LCD LED above 42" Xmas gift for my parents under $1000

Would like to pick up a good deal before xmas. Seen a few deals come through over the past month (haven't been using ozbargain for long). Done a bit of research and read through posts on here but still generally a bit unsure.

Full HD obviously. 3D would be good (gathered passive is better option?). Thanks in advance.

    Read through this http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/84901 seems like a great price. Should I jump on it or hold out for something possibly better over the next 5 weeks?

      That deal has already expired unfortunately. However I am sure LCD/LED TV price would drop before and AFTER Christmas. Add LCD TV tag into your RSS feed for example.
