TomTom Live 820 $157.60 @ JB Hi-Fi

70

I just picked up a TomTom Live 820 at JB HiFi with their discounted from $299 and then 30% off came in at $157.60 so not bad price for late model GPS with Bluetooth Handsfree that works good and loud with iPhone (tested on iPhone 3Gs), lifetime maps and 12 months included of Traffic via its integrated SIM card.

  • How does this model compare to the VIA 180 that's been on sale at DSE in the past 2 weeks for $150?

    • From what I can make out, VIA 180 does not have live traffic whereas Live 820 does.

    • the 1xx series is the older model, which has been replaced with 2xx this is the next up from VIA in the LIVE range

  • OP where did you get that price from? It's $199 on the JB site.

We have the Go750 Live, and for the lifetime maps currently available have been looking at replacing it. Does anyone know how the 750 and 820 compare? Screen size seems about the same, and I can't really see much difference between the two.

EDIT: ….except that the windscreen mount is built in, which would be an absolute pain to have to store if you're in an area where you had to take it with you every time you left the car.

Incidentally, for the rev-heads amongst you, DS currently has the Top Gear edition for about $18 more than the price given in the deal.
