I find the Asphalt series quite good. well depends on if you like unrealistic crazy racing but I've enjoyed it since 6.

I really enjoy this game- even at 99c it was totally worth it. If you hook up the device to an external screen you get the mirror display however I found my iPad 3 wasn't able to power this with any degree of stability. iPad 4 might be better.
Despite this, the game looks really impressive on the iPhone 5. Even more contrasting is if you compare this game to Asphalt on Blackberry.
Quite addictive, loads of fun. Only annoyance is the requirement to put your Facebook details in and it keeps asking to share progress (but you get in-game currency if you do). The plus side of this is it syncs your progress between devices and you can challenge your FB friends on each of the challenges as well as multiplayer.

Just checked Gameloft listed games with my iPad, seems quit a lot of games are free (not free version).
But I am not sure whether they are used to be free or now is free.
