  • not a bad deal.

They had this at GBP99.99 last night as a lightning deal. Sold out pretty quickly though.

True, and atleast their website is working!!!

Did you manage to get one?

      • I could have, but didn't need one right now.

i remember forking out close to $300 for this same drive. for anyone that doesn't already have an ssd this is a good price and 256gb is a good size.

  • FUUUUUU just purchased a 256 OCZ for 4 dollars more !!

      HA-HA!

  • THIS or the Samsung 830? :/

    • both really solid drives. I'd probably just get the cheaper one

    • I have one of each - 128GB M4 in my Q6600 Desktop, and 256GB 830 in my i7 laptop.

Happy with both - the 830 benchmarks better but I think that is more to do with the controllers they are connected to. Real world, both are great - flip a coin.

      • also Sata 3

  • Has the reliability of these things improved? Have heard nothing but bad rep about Crucial :(

Two laptops in my house have had 'em for ~ a year without issue.

The initial firmware that came on them was shit. Since the firmware fix came out, I don't know of anyone who has had any problems! Most sites I look at have fantastic reviews for this drive with the newer firmware.

Never had problem with my M4s.

Sorry all good thinking of OCZ lol.. :P

  • Am I missing something since it is 115 pounds which is $176.

      remove VAT at checkout.

      • thanks!

      • I'm new to Amazon EU, is there a button you press to remove it or is it taken off in the later stages automatically?

        • It's automatically removed for you.

  • Has the price gone back up?

  • How do we claim the warranty?
Do we have to send back to US?

    • Yeap. Check the Crucial support website for instructions.

      • It will be expensive to ship overseas though?

        • i believe it will be the same case if you bought a crucial ssd locally. maybe someone else who have experience can confirm this.

i've not have the 'fortune' to do that yet.

        • Yeah from what it seems they don't have RMA centers in Australia. However I think I recall somebody on this forum saying that Amazon partially refunded the cost of shipping back to them when he had to RMA a product.

        • Locally you can always send it back to the retailer you bought it from however.

the best deal on clickfrenzy isn't even on clickfrenzy…

    • and it's not even in australia. lol

after today, i'm still surprised at other local retailers still wanting to associate themselves with clickfail day.

  • Thanks for updating it as expired; I noticed this around 3am this morning. Luckily this previous ozbargain of Liteons 256GB SSD for $169 is still current - they are the same ssd's used in the crucial's (so I am told)
