I love the Mens Shop and this is a great deal, but do other OZB members have any issues ironing the Van Heusens? I can spend 20 minutes on a shirt and it still comes out wrinkly!

    Serious question and advice appreciated…

    • ah, just beat me to it!

I am feeling better to know that I am not alone.

      • Yeah, I've tried with the shirts still faintly wet from the washer….still no luck.

        • +1

You both need to do the following:

          1. Use warm water wash
          2. Use fabric softener
          3. Hang them immediately after they've washed - dont leave them sitting in the washing machine
          4. Use steam when ironing (if your iron has this option).
    • It is pretty much the cheapest business shirt you can buy after all… Can't ask for too much

      • Does it really come down to the cheapness of the thread? Back in the day I used to buy $30 Reserve shirts that ironed just fine. Do expensive 100% cotton shirts have the same problem?

        • Target used to sell shirts that never needed ironing!

        • Uni Qlo also sells shirts that don't need ironing.

        • 100% cotton shirts are the worst to iron. They're so comfortable but they never look as good as when you first opened the pack - no matter how hard you try.

I have problems with van heusens, too. Maybe I just hate ironing! :P

    • Yeah..it's pretty normal for shirts made of 100% cotton.
Just use ironing liquid from woolies or coles. It's gonna be fine.

    • +2

This is because you are probably buying the studio shirts which are 100% cotton. They look nice, breathe well, but iron poorly. Buy the polyester/cotton blends for easy ironing, wouldn't need to spend more than a couple of minutes for a perfectly ironed shirt.

Alternatively if you have a lot of cotton rich shirts, buy a steam generator. You can try using spray starch but that didn't work well for me. Also put your washer on delicate/easy iron/creasables/permanent press to avoid a thorough spin cycle. They will come out damp but if you dry them on a hanger they will iron much easier.

    • Buy the easy care ones. Don't need to iron them.

    • Watch this space!! We are about to launch a GREAT offer for all of you OzBargainers… keep your eyes peeled!!

    • http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/86854 - Pierre Cardin 2 trouser Italian wool suits for $249!!!

    Nice Price.

Not sure if other have the same issue as me. The shirts I bought last time wrinkle so much when I wash them, it take a bit of effort to press them and they wrinkle up very soon after you wear them again..

Is this because they are all cotton shirts?

    • Yes, Van Huesen Sudio shirts are all 100% cotton.

  • This applied to our Van Heusen Studio shirts, not to the Pierre Cardin shirts.

    Cheers.

Too bad there's no slim fit shirts for this price. Better have more kfc to buy cheap shirts.

Use the Hungry Jack's deals/vouchers to reach your dream goal at a fraction of the price

So the $59.95 shirts dont seem to fit in with this deal do they? ie 2 of 69.95 plus 1 of 59.95 = no deal right?

    • Give it a try…I think it would still be 3 for $55.

  • Looks like I was trying with some non Studio shirts.

Hey mate, this coupon only works when you buy three or more products from the following web page:
      www.themensshop.com.au/click-frenzy

      • Thanks

      • Btw, I tried to add three shirts to my cart two times, both times wasting time just so I could get that damn error again. NEG.

    • .

  • -7

Ive added three to my cart and the code, then I get a message saying "Warning: Sorry, you need to purchase more products to use this coupon". WTF?

Why waste my time trying to find shirt sizes and colours to meet the 3 shirt criteria only to end up with this stupid message? Your post says "ANY 3 VAN HEUSEN SHIRTS". I did that and applied the code, and get a warning. The price is still over $200. Either its a bug, or a neg for the "deal".

This post is not an official OzBargain post. The only shirts that this applies to are found on the following page:

      www.themensshop.com.au/click-frenzy

Your post says "Put any 3 shirts of $69.95 in your cart, and apply the code". Do you understand what "any" means? How about being specific and saying "any 3 Van Heusen shirts on this page/link"? I was going through adding Van Heusen shirts that were $69.95 as per your post thinking that the end price would be $55 after adding the code.

        • Yeah, same here. People try to neg around

        • +4

Hey mate, please note that this post was not submitted by The Mens Shop, so the wording is not at our discretion.

You must click the Click Frenzy banners (or the link provided above) in order to redeem this offer.

        • +1

Trishool and Tuthanh, just relax mate. It's only small misunderstanding.
Yeah the wording on OP's description is perhaps not too accurate, even though we can easily correlate the description with the link provided.
But mate, negging is a strong statement. This deal is still a bargain, despite the wording.

Just to clarify - this post was not an official The Mens Shop post - another OzBargain user posted it so the wording is not in our control.

This deal was way too good to pass up!

    That's 8 shirts from TheMensShop.com.au within a week haha

    Thank you TheMensShop.com.au!

I would love to see more deals on good quality work pants ;) I have bought Zane Bono pants from TradeSecret before and find them to be my favorite in terms of looks and more importantly quality! (they don't form holes and the thread just holds together very well)

    • Thanks mate, will definitely take this into consideration.

  • It works for me just fine. :)

    Just bought 3 studio whites!

    Thanks so much themenshop! :D

Fantastic deal TMS, I have not bought a shirt, suit or pair of trousers anywhere else since you guys started and happy to keep supporting your fantastic deals. Would really like to see some deals on work pants, navy & light/dark grey!

  • Tried about 5 different shirts and only 1 actually worked - the others, despite saying my size was still available (38) all said out of stock. Don't know if the last ones of a whole bunch of different shirts are all being sold at the same time but maybe the website needs more work updating.

  • Can anyone explain the sleeve lengths to me? 90cm sleeves seems a little excessive… aren't most aussie shirts around the 65-75cm mark?

    • Hey mate,

Depends on the collar size you are looking at, but a standard sleeve length is either 86 or 90 cm long. 65-75 is extremely short.

Check out the following site to see how to measure your sleeve length: www.themensshop.com.au/fit-guide

      • Oh right, the length includes the shoulder! cheers mate

  • Its a pity all the awesome Studio shirts are sold out in the lower range of sizes (37-40).

  • Thanks TMS, great deal $18 bucks a shirt… I can't for my order to arrive.

  • so i assume we can add more than 3 to the cart and additional shirts are 1/3rd the price?

    • Sorry Phoebus, the voucher only applies to 3 items per transaction. You can use this voucher more than once if you would like.

      Cheers.

      • thx. 3 will do. The shirts are going fast.

    http://www.themensshop.com.au/MJ-Bale-Linen-Red-Stripe-Shirt…

$189 for that. Hmmm. Does it give you multiple orgasms during the day, cos I cannot see the value in that, at all.

    • u should visit Polo Ralph Lauren shop and look at the price of a polo shirt…..$220.

  • How much time it takes to receive these items in SYD?

    • Like a day or two because it's actually IN Sydney.

  • +1

Great price. Just ordered some but had to return another purchase recently. They have an excellent return policy. Bare in mind the colour of the shirts shown on the webpage can look different from the actual product on hand. The actual product tend to be more vibrant and brighter than what is seen on the screen. Also will depend on your screen settings, but I have noticed with all the screens I have used, the actual product came much more vibrant and brighter which was the reason I had to return the shirts. I am now more careful of what I select.

    • Ugh, looks like I'll have to invest in that Dell IPS screen always on sale for $279 lol, been stuck with my TN panel for too long.

  • @ TheMensShop

When I tried to add 3 shirts from
    http://www.themensshop.com.au/Mens-Shirts/?lmt=12&row=grid&f…
I get warning with the coupon " Sorry, you need to purchase more products to use this coupon. "

Is it ONLY applicable to choose shirts from www.themensshop.com.au/click-frenzy
    link?

    • I get the same response.
Added three VH $69.95 shirts and get "Sorry, you need to purchase more products to use this coupon."

Whats up rep. Am I doing something wrong?

Bought from Mens Shop before. Love the service.

    • Yup, only applicable to the shirts on the click frenzy link. You can mix and match with the Pierre Cardin shirts and it will take $154.85 when you add three shirts from that link.

    • Hey guys, this discount only applied to the shirts on the Click Frenzy page.

  • I am buying from the following link and all shirts are $69.95 ones. Still get "Sorry, you need to purchase more products to use this coupon." error.

    http://www.themensshop.com.au/click-frenzy

    • worked for me just then.

      • You need to buy either 3, 6 and so on.

  • +2

Although I didn't buy, +1 to The Mens Shop simply because you can't fault them in service, delivery, and that awesome box you get your goods in!

    • Cheers mate!

  • Hey themensshop, I purchased some shirts the other day (4 for 150), these are still within the initial 30 days, qualifying for free returns. If I buy them now using the this offer I would save a bit of money. Would I be able to get the difference credited or should I return these shirts and re-order them again ? Sorry to be a hassle, but money saved anywhere is still money!

    • Mate the only way to do that is to return the goods to us for a refund and re order.

  • What a deal! Just placed two orders. Very good.

  • Well I've put my order in, I haven't got shirts for a long time - but when I finally see reasonable prices, they've got me.

I can't recall but I am pretty sure I've had some Van Heusen shirts before and the material was the nicer, thicker stuff - not the cheap nasty crap from kmart / target. Nothing worse than a translucent shirt. I guess we'll all know soon what actual quality these shirts are.

I've always had a beef with shirt prices, the cheap nasty ones seem reasonably priced for the material / work normally, between 15 to 40$ but the nice stuff seems to be damned well 90 to 160 damn dollars for a shirt.
Fingers crossed Van Heusen haven't dropped the ball on material quality, because the thickness of the material is where it counts.

    • if your after the van heusen shirts with slightly better material try the 'performa' range (i think thats whats its called)

      • Oh boy, I was under the assumption all their stuff had reasonably decent material. Now I'm concerned 3 paper thin translucent shirts might show up. I don't know how people endure the really thin stuff.

We'll see I guess, Chinese manufacturing and competitiveness has diminished a lot of good brands over the years. It's becoming increasingly difficult to find anything in good quality anymore.

      • I checked my cupboard and found my old Van Heusens, oooooops they are really thin. Damn - should've ponied up for the pricier stuff.

  • Placed 2 orders, thanks TMS!

  • Great deal. 6 shirts @ ~$70 each for $110, bargain … indeed, an OZBargain! ;)

    • Agreed!

  • Thanks! My first time to buy a business shirt… I usually buy Medium sized shirt… what size roughly should I choose?

  • Can anyone confirm, but has this just expired? Was it until midnight AEDST?

Even with the 'Sale Ended' on the main page it was still possible to use the code in the cart.

Yet, 20 minutes later and it no longer seems to work.

  • Nothing good in stock… :(

  • I ordered different sizes of different styles to see how they fit, is it ok to get them swapped once i figure out what size is best?

    • +2

Hey mate, this should be fine. If you need a returns form you can download one from our site or email customer service for a copy.

  • Coupon no longer working?

    • "Warning. Invalid Coupon"

    • Hey mate, this coupon expired last night. This offer is therefore no longer valid. Apologies.

  • Anyone received shipping confirmation yet? They normally ship out 1-2 days from date of order but have not heard anything from them yet.
