Gold box deal of the day on Amazon, one of Panasonic's newer generation 3 blade rechargeable shavers, complete with Vortex cleaning system. Pretty impressive reviews on this one.

100-240v compatible, just grab the usual cheap plug adapter for the US plug.

Cheapest it's ever been, according to CamelCamelCamel

Already took up the ES8103 for ~$68 deal as a replacement for my trusty ES8044. Excellent prices, excellent shavers, excellent service (took just one week for mine to arrive with the cheap shipping option). Only bad thing I've heard about Amazon is their outsourced warehouse employees are treated like dirt :-/

This is the sort of deal we should've been seeing in Click Frenzy.

  • Is this your normal figure 8 plug, or alternatively can someone point me in the right direction for an adaptor (looking at the previous bargain it looked like figure 8)

So is this one better than the ES8103?

    • Depends if think the following differences is worth the extra $14:

      • Travel Lock Switch
      • Automatic Cleaning and Charging System

Other than that, it's just the same but with a different housing.

      • Foil is different as well, I'm guessing an improved one because it's newer than the 8103?

  • I'll be interested to see your opinion of it when you get it.
I bought the (highly-reviewed) Phillishave that was up a few months ago but as someone who has to shave every day and has a 5 o'clock shadow by noon I wasn't terribly impressed with it.

Unfortunately you have to try them yourself because your face and hair aren't the same as the guy's feedback you're reading. I have three shavers at hand on my shelf - the Philips rotary is crap around the neck but great on the chin and sides, the Braun foil is best at getting difficult neck hair, and the Panasonic foil is the most consistent overall. This says nothing about how they'll perform for you, but shows there isn't necessarily one type that'll be the best at everything.

Bad news is none shave as close as is possible with a wet razor, if that's where you're coming from. They're mainly about convenience and/or for people who experience less irritation with electrics. But how big a performance gap there is will again depend on the individual.
