ASOS not shipping to Australia

is it me or has asos added a lot more restrictions to ship to Australia? a lot of brands either don't ship to Australia or certain items don't. like dr denim or nudie doesn't even ship to Australia, g-star have certain items which doesn't either. what's with that? are there ways around it?

  • Freight Forwarder - would only really come in handy if you are buying in bulk. As there are a few clothes stores which offer free shipping anyway.

AH YES,THAT.It was mentioned a couple of months ago on Today Tonight or ACA,that the companies who distribute those brands in Oz complained and had it stopped (or prices to become inline with ours here, not US prices).Othe retailers are looking at following suit (so if they carn't screw you financially one way, they'll do it another )DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM OF COMPETITION IS ALIVE AND WELL YES ?

    • Let's spite them and give our money to the mail forwarders =)

      • Sorry, they are onto that as well (that also came up).As there are only a handful of really well known, trusted and reliable mail forwarders that Aussies use,and the addresses of those are known to a lot of companies who won't ship here, all they need to do is check that on your order (it is usually suite number such & such )they will then send you an email stating that this is a known mail forwarder, and they don't ship to them either). It really is a matter of David and Goliath here, and a "you'll support Aussie sellers regardless,or you don't get to purchase".

  • So soon asos wouldn't be any good to aust customers anymore. Cause either they don't ship or they mark it up.

  • Shame on the Oz Companies that complained about online Companies that can sell items cheaper than Oz. If they can't beat them they should think of joining them to make Competition alive. If online Companies are going to make things expensive then no one will want to buy from them. Consumers should have a choice to choose whether to buy from online Co that can offer products at a great discount if they want to without fear that some Oz companies will complain and make things tough for them.

The Nudie restriction is nothing new, its been like this for a while. Local distros having a whinge at being undercut.

Try alternative british stores like Oipolloi for Nudies.

  • lol I finally got my "Free Measuring Tape from ASOS" today from this thread- http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/79844

Unfortunately that thread is now closed so I couldn't comment on it, but it was a good surprise to get the free measuring tape 3 months later ^_^
