Grays Online $20 off Any Wine Order - Sydney Morning Herald

710
SF1211

Saw this in the SMH on the weekend, $20 wine voucher using code SF1211. Terms and conditions say new members only but I just checked and it seems to work for existing customers. Check out previous grays online specials for suggested wine deals.

I am getting some of this for $13.94 delivered.

    the pinot gris is nice.

    • This code didn't work for me, but other ones were OK. Maybe I've already used it hik

  • +1

Shipping seems to be $15 to Adelaide :(

  • +13

The fact that they keep running these seems to indicate that they are not yet scared of OzBargain. If nothing else, that deserves respect.

    • +5

Guess I'll have to toast their bravery with a glass of close-to-free Pinot Gris :)

Here lies GraysOnline. They stood against the might of OzBargain… for a while

  • -2

This is a great deal but the sad thing is I'm not into wines… :( Can I use it for beers?

    • +1

      No :(
(I tried to get a case of Budvar but it didn't accept it)

the cheap0 chardy from a few weeks ago was terrible.
smelt like dead animal. tasted like dead animal in wine.

    • +6

I quite liked it, as did the rest of my family. Would definitely buy it again for that price.

      • +13

There you have it straight from the dead animal's mouth

      • maybe mine had gone off.
I got another box for the office I might try that too.

        • +1

Terrible if served unchilled. Quite nice for sipping during dinner.
Same/worse than goon if unchilled, was a good punishment for a drinking game.

I have enough wine from the last gray's codes + mystery trip :)

        • +1

I bought 2 boxes of the chardy. finished the first (it was Ok for $2.15 or whatever) but then bought the Pinot Gris which is far better.

The second box of chardy is now sitting there unopened. Just ordered another box of pinot gris.

        • +1

I agree. My wife likes the Chardy but I can't stand it. I like the Pinot Gris.

    • +2

very drinkable, would buy it again

Awesome! just picked it up as well =)

Better value using on auctions, I've had two 6 bottle cases delivered for 35c each using these vouchers

Here's a 12 bottle case that would nett out to $2.35 delivered

    http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0037-2407162/wine/shiraz-syra…

    • +1

Do these work on the auctions as well? I assumed that they didn't >.<

      • +3

Apparently they do but if you don't win the auction you lose the voucher. Personally I'm avoiding 2012 wines while I can still get my hands on 2010 wines from the Barossa.

        • I tried a different code on an auction, lost, tried the same code on another auction and it was accepted again!

  • +1

    Cheers big ears!

  • +1

Perfect timing, few cheap bottles for gifts!

Code works with spirits. I grabbed this Alize 3 pack bundle http://www.graysonline.com/retail/KT000044/wine/alize-triple…
$79 after discount, not bad with free delivery. Will make some good xmas cocktails.

    Thanks op.

    • +1

Not bad if you like it. Compared to buying them individually from dan murphys you're basically saving 30 bucks (assuming rose is about the same price as gold - they don't seem to stock it).

However, I've only tried alize bleu and wild passion, and I didn't really like wild passion (which is included in this deal).

BTW, I wanted to try gold passion but the coupon wouldn't work for it, so I think it doesn't apply to most spirits :)

      • Not all spirits but most of the bundles I checked. Saving on this bundle is ~30. Wouldn't drink even bleu neat though all are great mixers. Delivered it's a solid bargain.

    Nice find OP.

$15 shipping to me (2450) - decided to pay a tad more for whats a surer thing of a good tipple, went with the Yarra Burn 2007 Shiraz Viognier - which has free delivery. Effectively $40/6 delivered.
    http://www.graysonline.com/retail/ybsv0706/wine/yarra-burn-s…

SHould be very good drinking, nice products come out of the Yarra Burn winery.

    • +1

I'm going to take your recommendation and try this Yarra Burn.

      • +2

Good man. FWIW they make one of the best value for money sparklings you'll find. Gives others $30+ a run and sells around ~$18 for the vintage variant. Very nice starter to an evening.

    • Jumped on this as well.

      Cheers

  • +1

Ordered the same. Great find. Thanks.

  • +5

All of the wines I listed in this previous deal still have free shipping, the beer and spirits don't, which is why it's expired. I picked up 12 bottles of Hardy's Shiraz for $39.88 delivered and quite happy with the taste.

    • +1

Your reputation is on the line donga - just ordered the Hardy's.

      • +1

I ordered the hardys and drank a bottle last night was very very suprised at actually how good it was , especially for $3-4 a bottle

    • +2

I tried the Hardy's last night. Was actually better than I was expecting. Perfectly suitable for ~$3 per bottle!

    • Thanks for the tip, went for the same.

    • Nice, I picked up the Peter Lehmann

      • +1

Assuming you mean the Winemaker's Selection I've had a case of that! Nice drop. Not as good as the Back to Back 2008 that Winemarket once had, but good none the less. I never got to try the Back to Back 2010.

        • I think the WR is superb. The reviews on Grays are 100% +ve which is almost unheared of given around 30 customers reviewed it.

Maybe you like the coconut flavour (cheaper) American oak imparts.

  • +1

    Excellent

  • +1

With Christmas approaching all wine sellers our desperate to grab the seasonal dollars.

  • +1

that Pinot Gris in the OP is sold out, damn it

  • +2

If anyone is interested in a Chardonnay I noticed this would be $27.88 delivered for 12 bottles.

  • +1

    i got 6 x Banrock Moscato's for the mrs for $25.94 delivered

  • +1

Thanks for the tip on auctions. I just picked up Thomas Mitchell Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2008 (6 x 750mL) for $5.35 delivered!

  • +1

Can anyone recommend a sweet white wine? I am not so good with wine in anyway.

    • +2

Moscato, or less sweet are Pinot Gris, Ponot Grigio - best to taste things before buying, as my definition of sweet may not equal yours

  • +1

Thanks OP, ordered the McWilliam's Inheritance Fruitwood Red NV (6 x 750mL) for $22.94 delivered. Should go well chilled with summer BBQ.

  • +1

Grays is making me really really cheap for buying wine. How can I go to bottle shop now and pay $10 for 1. Bottle? Even beer. Pinot gris $2.30 a bottle vs single stubby $2.50!!!

Ozbargain, you're dictating my choices and spending on alcohol

    • That's the downside to attracting customers with cheap prices. They don't don't feel loyalty for the brand, just set their price targets lower.

  • well i left specific instructions to leave the wine i ordered at the front door, so what do i find when i drop past home? a delivery card. Can't take any more time off work so i'm over the moon!

    • after a phone call to Aus Post i now have the wine, re-delivered and left at the door. Happy now! Thanks OP and Aus Post.

    • when in Rome

  • Thanks OP, I always buy from Greys now and so do many work Colleagues since I put them onto it. I have got some really nice wines at a great price. I wish they had decent beers but they just seem to have the commercial largers.
