Says reduced to clear, so I think it's only yours. Good deal if you can get them, but 8GB isn't a lot these days.

    • +3

Although $2.50 for 8GB is half-price, so, great deal.

  • +15

Good for making OS bootable images for Win, Mac, Linux etc.

  • +19

    nice thumbnail

    • +3

      Thanks!

    • +2

It was only by clicking on the thumbnail that I was able to see the thumbnail!

      • I assume it was included to compare to a thumb drive

      • +1

        You've made me blush!
I'm a bit slow and only just got the joke. I thought you were talking about my aeroplane avatar at first.
The thumbnail is due for a trim in a couple of days. Use hand moisturiser to keep it in shape :)

  • Awesome!

  • Anyone spot these in Vic? Need a bunch for an art project…

    • +8

Are you building structures out of them?

      • Probably a mega vault out of micro vaults

      • Flash drive Jenga!

    • I've seen them in Geelong, but I haven't been recently to see if they are at this price.

  • great find, wonders if other coles have these on clearence or not.

  • +2

I'll check Coles Brisbane CBD at lunch time.
USB2.0 so performance won't be too impressive but for $2.50 I'll buy a few.
As stated excellent for storing OS or DVD images and much more convenient than a DVD.

Hmmm, I'll need to duck into Coles after the gym and see if they have these. Could do with some spare USB sticks… my room mate 'borrows' em and forgets to given them back. I should rent out USB sticks to her.

    • +26

Ironic? She has plenty of memory yet still forgets…

      • +1

        Good one.

  • +9

Most of the hers define borrow as give away with no intention to return.

  • +1

    None at coles Beldon WA

    • +2

Expected I guess. 128mb is still considered the "big" stick over in WA :-)

      • +1

as long as you can find a comput-a-watcha-ma-callout that has a USB socket

    • +1

None at coles express St Leonards, will check Coles Riverwood after work

  • Will definitely have to see if these are available in Cairns

  • I have a 16GB version of one of these. They are a really solid USB stick, with pretty good write speeds compared to others.

  • Not on clearance at coles near me …its there for $10 …
so only few have them on clearance…

  • +3

Not on clearance in Hobart either, there was no price tag for them at all so I grabbed the last 4 they had and when they scanned at $10 I went and put them back haha

  • +5

68 upvotes, and 67 of them won't even be able to get this deal, lol.

    • +7

Would be selfish to upvote only if you directly benefit!

      • +2

        71 votes for 11 usb sticks @$2.5????

      • -1

I upvote all the time when something is a good deal even if I have no intention of partaking in the deal either because I don't want it or don't need it. But I only upvote if it's available for purchase.

If I want something but can't get the deal due to limited stock, or it being a local store only, I normally don't even bother commenting on it.

There has to be enough stock available, and stores widely accessible. If it's just a clearance that one store is running that only has 10 units on shelf, it's not worthy of an upvote for me. If it was available everywhere, I would upvote it even if I don't intend to grab any for myself.

I don't have to benefit directly from a deal to upvote it. As long as it's a good deal for someone else. But in order for it to qualify as a good deal, it needs to be freely available, and this isn't. Upvoting means you're recommending the deal to others. You can't really recommend something that only one store has, and they only have 10 units of (unless they happen to live close to that store). It's going to get a bunch of people to waste time by visiting nearby stores only to find out the deal isn't on at theirs.

Tried Coles at Toombul and Lutwyche and both don't have these at $2.50. Looks like it's strictly Birkenhead Point.

    • none at the Barracks.

  • +2

Checked here in Morley Coles - about $10.50 or something.. no sale here in WA ;(

  • +3

Mt Ommaney Qld. Shelf price $10 scans as $10

  • +3

Newton, SA. Scans at 10$ also.

  • +2

Good on ya OP for reporting the bargain. Pity my store has it for $10.

  • +1

I'm heading to Birkenhead point now. Hopefully some left for ozbargainer fellows.

    • No more left at Birkenhead. Now head up to Harvey Norman Broadway as our fellow has succesfully priced match it.

  • +1

No luck with the usb’s in Woolloongabba, Brisbane. The label said $18 but when the lady scanned it , it scanned for $10. There was a big pile of them so I’m guessing in the next week or two they might reduce them even further. Will update if they do reduce them.

  • +2

Harvey Norman at Broadway just price matched Was priced at $17.99 Now $2.50 Bargain! I showed them photo no problems!

    • +1

Could you post your receipt please?

    • Hi scot, nothing left on usb stick shelf next to cashier desk. Did you ask to cust.services?

    • +2

Were they having a (crane) fire sale?

    • +1

I'm happy that some one else could benefit from this find.

    • Could you upload your receipt please? It would help us who cannot get this price match from other Coles Supermarkets. Thank you very much.

  • Oh I forgot to mention they have lots of them in basket at front of store.Coles at Broadway would not pricematch because it was a clearance item!!

  • +1

Burwood, NSW. Scans at 10$. Cool deal (though). +1

  • That's a lot of likes!
Did anyone manage to find a Coles apart from the one in the post that had the same deal on?

  • +1

Happy to be the 100th + voter - Thanks OP, to share a great deal with us…

  • +1

Price matched at Big W Campsie ($16.98 > $2.50) - approx. 15 left on the shelf as of 3pm

    http://www.bigw.com.au/electronics/computers-office/drives-s…

    • Can you upload your receipt please? It would help us if we get a customer service representative in BigW store who does not wish to match the price. Thanks in advance.

    • I went to BigW Campsie earlier today and the manager refused to match the price. So anyone who is able to get this USB drive at this ridiculous price is very very lucky.

Other than the store mentioned in the subject of this deal and a Harvey Norman store at Broadway, none of the Coles Stores or any other stores are willing to sell it at that price.

      • +2

Purchased from the desk in the entertainment section rather than at the registers at the front of the store. Best of luck!

  • I tried to purchase it from the desk in the entertainment section in BigW Campsie and showed them your receipt and they told me that it was a mistake and they will ask the staff member who price matched it not to do it again. I purchased 8GB Sandisk USB Flash Drive for $2.99 from JB Hi-Fi online store.
