Just thought i'd post this really nice app I've been working on with Telstra for the past year or so. It has some pretty great features, and I'm a long time user of OzBargains, so I thought I'd post it here for everyone to share aswell.

This is the official SNYE 2012 Mobile App. Some of the features include:

Enter texts early and let us send up to 50 FREE SMS messages to family and friends for you – that way you don’t have to worry about sending them at midnight.

TELSTRA COLOUR
Take part in one of the world’s largest interactive NYE light shows. At 10:15PM, 11:00PM, 11:30PM and 11:45PM, the app will automatically sync with a colourful lightshow, as well as other smartphones around the Harbour, to create an amazing display of colour. (We're going for a world record!)

    Congrats on a beautiful app, and thanks for posting it- I remember sending SMS on NYE past and getting replies 4hrs later, and this looks like it will help clear the network.

    I can't get the app to work.
    I create a new message, press the plus button to select a contact, select a contact and then I get an error message saying '[Contact Name] does not have any valid phone numbers'. I thought at first maybe contacts needed to be in +61 format but this did not work either.
    Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

    Massive FAIL. All my friends received was a blank message with " - Connected by Telstra" on the end.
