    • Good point, hadn't thought of the security factor… Sad but I could imagine that being true especially leaving it for hours somewhere. Probably fine if just using it to duck into the shops or something.

      • Thousands of motor scooters are parked on the streets unsecured every day.

It's also got a steering lock.

If someone wants your bike, they are going to take it regardless of weight.

I've known many an intersection where a big motorbike won't trigger the lights.

yeah, that's on the older style loops though.
New ones are solid and can be set of with a can or 2 of wd-40 lol

      • I'll stop reminscing about the bad old times then :)

        • +1

Plenty of them haven’t been replaced, it’s still a massive issue today.
I sometimes have to get off my bike and press the button as if I’m crossing, assuming the lights aren’t on a timer.
I was at a set for 15 minutes one night, ran the red and got pulled straight over, cops watched the entire time and just laughed about it. No fine or anything either.

  • oh shit, didn't realise these finally came out here, time to upgrade from me grom

    • +1

Wouldnt think of it as an upgrade - less power (110cc carby vs 124cc EFI) - maybe if you're looking to go to a scooter equivalent instead of a motorbike it could be considered an upgrade (moving away from gearbox on the grom to a CVT transmission)
