        Except steam installs it for me. With a non steam key you need the install media to install the game. Which I'm having trouble finding for Assassin's Creed III which I bought a cd key for the other day because all the torrents out there are cracked repacks, not install media.

      No you dont. Especially when Green Man Gaming, Gamersgate, Amazon and practically every other online digital game service beats steam by a mile in price everytime.

      Steam was amazing. Now it's just one of many game management programs.

      I own the steam edition. It's quite simply not worth paying extra over the Uplay version. (which I did)

      The U-play installer is extremely quick, so sourcing the game is not an issue.

    Finally activated my key this morning!

    For some reason UPlay did not want to accept the key until I turned off capslock and used the shift key to enter capital letters and put in the dashes.
