Found yet another Garmin watch deal, when I was choosing between Instinct 2S Solar or Amazfit Balance. Garmin Forerunner 165 is the new "low end" running watch from Garmin but a lot better than the older FR 45/55. AMOLED Touchscreen, 11 days battery life, etc. RRP is $429 from Garmin AU, but Amazon has one delivered from Amazon US for under $300, exclusive for prime members.

Black only. White one appears to be from Amazon DE which is more expensive.

  Upgrade from my old Forerunner 630?

  I can't find a reason to get rid of it besides the fact it's 7 years old lol. Still working well.

    Battery life is the main issue with old watches. My FR645 can't last more than 3 days, or ~4 hours in GPS mode.

      Still better than all Apple and Android Wear OS smartwatches in term of battery life. All devices with short battery life may go to landfill faster than devices with longer battery life.

        3 days between charges are fine comparing with Apple Watch, but 4 hour GPS means it might not be enough for an ultra or a marathon for a slowmo. I mean I can try to run faster but it might be easier just to replace the watch.

          @scotty: Even better for the environment if manufacturers give service to replace the battery of smartwatches. The battery of non smartwatches can be replaced. Imagine if EU mandates this rule for smartwatches … Manufacturers will follow suit. Then the battery can be replaced and the smartwatches can last even longer.

            @neoleo: Indeed. You can get a new replacement battery for FR645 for ~$15 delivered from AliExpress. However opening up the watch and resolder the battery together might be challenging. Again, many probably won't bother.

  I hope they honour this deal.

  I placed a order for the garmin 165 white for $375 last week friday.
  But then yesterday I saw the garmin 165 white go for $296.
  I know you are going to ask where is this deal, I just happen to do a google search yesterday at 3:35pm an this price popped up.
  I cancelled my original $375 order and placed an order for the $296 deal.
  I did a search again for the $296 soon after placing order for garmin 165 white and it disappeared.

  So long story short i placed order for garmin 165 white for $375 last week friday and by Tuesday 3:35pm they still had not shipped it.
  So in this case hopefully they send this black and my white ones soon.

  So disappointed to miss this one. Really wanted it and could have finally gotten a good buy with my Prime membership. ;-( Hope they repeat it in the not too distant future.
  Why does CamelCamelCamel report the lowest price as $331.61 (Oct 14, 2024) given the price scotty posted here?
