This garbage machine was never that expensive!

  • I had this machine but just died last year after 3 years. Now i bought this: https://www.delonghi.com/en-au/en85-w-nespresso-coffee-machi… with welcome discount and cashback, it comes down to 13X. Lor capsule works on Nespresso coffee machine.

  • The machine itself (without the milk frother) was selling like $59.99 during hot buy at Costco (normally $89.99).
    RRP $249 with integrated a milk forther….hmm

I'm guessing they are selling it like printers. Give the device away for a low, low price, and make money on the consumables.

I just bought one for 69.99 from Amazon, its decent enough. Capsules seems to be in the 30-40 cent mark when on special at Coles/Woolies, and plenty of brands to pick from. L'or is one of the more expensive ones so haven't tried it yet.

We've been using a De Longhi Pixie capsule machine daily for ten years .. 100% reliable. They're still available. L'Or capsules are regularly $5.50 a packet at Colesworth .. very occasionally $4.50 ..

    • How does that compare to the Nespresso Essenza Mini EN85W.SOLO, Automatic Coffee Maker

      • The L'OR BARISTA Premium Latte and Nespresso Essenza Mini are both popular espresso machines, but they have some distinct differences in features and functionality. Here’s a comparison:

        1. Design and Build
L'OR BARISTA Premium Latte: Sleek, modern design with a larger footprint and a built-in milk frother, making it suitable for a variety of coffee types, including lattes and cappuccinos.
Nespresso Essenza Mini: Compact and minimalist, the Essenza Mini is one of the smallest Nespresso machines, making it ideal for limited spaces. It lacks a built-in milk frother, so additional frothing must be done separately.
        2. Capsule Compatibility
L'OR BARISTA: Compatible with L'OR coffee capsules, Nespresso Original capsules, and has a unique dual-capsule capability, allowing for single or double espresso shots.
Nespresso Essenza Mini: Only compatible with Nespresso Original capsules. However, a wide variety of third-party capsules are available for this machine.
        3. Brewing Options
L'OR BARISTA Premium Latte: Offers more versatility with single and double espresso options, as well as the ability to brew longer coffees. The built-in frother allows for milk-based drinks like lattes and cappuccinos.
Nespresso Essenza Mini: Simple, with two buttons for espresso and lungo shots. It does not offer a built-in milk frother, so it’s limited to espresso-based drinks unless paired with a separate milk frother.
        4. Ease of Use
L'OR BARISTA: While straightforward, the dual-capsule system may have a learning curve, but it ultimately provides more flexibility.
Nespresso Essenza Mini: Very user-friendly with two buttons and a straightforward setup. It’s designed for people who want a quick, uncomplicated espresso or lungo.
        5. Price and Value
L'OR BARISTA Premium Latte: Priced higher than the Essenza Mini due to its additional features, especially the built-in frother.
Nespresso Essenza Mini: Generally more affordable, making it a great entry-level machine for espresso lovers who may not need milk-based drinks.
        6. Maintenance
L'OR BARISTA: Slightly more complex maintenance, especially with cleaning the milk frother.
Nespresso Essenza Mini: Very easy to clean due to its simple build and no frothing components.
          Which One to Choose?
If you prefer a more versatile machine that can make lattes and cappuccinos without needing extra equipment, the L'OR BARISTA Premium Latte is a great choice.
If you’re looking for a compact, straightforward espresso machine without extra features, the Nespresso Essenza Mini is likely the better option.
