    • It doesn't like email addresses with non-alphanumeric characters, a dash in my case.

    • Change the email address. PureVPN doesn't like certain email addresses

kkkkkk66@gmail.com should be good to go for example. I have created a new gmail account. Email addresses forwarded from proton don't work with PureVPN.

      Also the comment above me:

  • So same payment method okay as long as its been over 30 days? new account = new email?

    • Yes, new email. I still use paypal, no problem. I put the new default email for paypal too.

I’m guessing cancelling (not refunding) the subscription immediately upon payment is ok for cashback? Any idea what the difference is between cancelling & stopping recurring payments? I think that was the promo when I tried to cancel anyways.

    • A good question.

I updated the subscription with a one off credit card number which expires in 2025 but is useable only for one day (today). Their website accepted this even though the 24 month subscription would clearly be trying to renew the subscription on an invalid card. This did not end or cancel the subscription and protected me from a potential payment of over $500 at a future point.

Obviously this is the tactic here with these cashbacks and deep discounts. Enough people will automatically renew at the full price of the VPN service that they'll cover the costs of the promotion to others that opt out and never renew. Those that don't pay attention will be hit with a heavy renewal fee on a VPN service they may have only acquired because of the cashback.

Buyer beware and all that, but these practices are predatory in my opinion and designed to take advantage of people. However, those of us that are savvy to it can profit out of it.

    • If you paid by paypal you can cancel reccuring payment on Paypals side rather than purevpn

  • Does this work in China? Tried Nord last time and didn't connect at all

  • Error Detected
Unfortunately, we cannot process your request at the moment.

  • How long does it take for it to become available to payout? Seems like a good deal.

  • Are there international fees with the purchase?

    • There should be depending on your bank since PureVPN charges the amount in USD. If you read around the comments people had different amounts charged but the same cashback. Personally, I was charged $172.74 using an ANZ Visa Debit Card.

      • I was charged $174.70 using ING visa debit card

        • Did you happen to pay through Paypal? Because Paypal uses a lower exchange rate and charges a percentage fee. Sadly.

          • +1

@Alinnia: Paypal has no fees for customers. It does offer a really poor exchange rate and if you pay in AUD it will charge the poorest rate possible. I did an experiment with it recently, it was going to cost about $10 extra for an order compared to what the card charged.

            • +1

@drspy00: yes Rookie error. Paypal assulted me in a lot of unfun ways, including a conversion fee. This is after I spend an hour on hold to ING to confirm no fees.

              • +1

@eeeee: $7 difference by using paypal.

              • @eeeee: I fought paypal over this some years ago, threatened to go to the financial complaints commission. They charged $25 extra, I calculated exactly how much it would be with ing visa card on the visa card site. Now they default to AUD for most transactions, and its a horrible rate, for expensive things it could be an unlimited amount you lose. There used to be a way to change it to never default to it, and thats what I did, but for some reason it reverted back. Its so sneaky.

                • @drspy00: Paypal explained a method that needs to be setup on the card to stop it from happening, but then closed the chat before I could copy it. Regardless, they put a credit on my account for the difference before I even asked for it. I am more concerned if the cashback doesnt happen in the end (tracking for the moment) and I spent $170 ish on a not so great vpn that I probably won't use.

  • how long the deal last, anyone knows?

    • It says it lasts til tomorrow 10 nov 11:59pm

      • Correct. 23:59 AEDT Sunday.

  • hmm charged AUD $189.94 (USD 109.95) for a 2 year plan. Paid using a Mastercard. Let's see if tracks. @tightarse, so shall I expect 130% of $189.94?

    • Seems like your card/bank has a higher transaction fee/conversion rate from USD to AUD. Mine was $172.74 with ANZ. Expect the cashback to be at $210.67 just like with everyone else in this thread as they don't include any fees and taxes in the calculation.

    • I got charged $167.63 with wise visa but its showing up as $167.38 if paying with debit mastercard with no fees.

    • You must be with a bank with a really bad conversion rate. Macquarie, Up, Ubank, ING. All of those have no fees and if you want to join ING you will get a $125 if you complete the steps if you want a referral code message.

  • Has anyone figured out the best method to pay for this to avoid the extra bank/exchange fee etc?

    • +1

Revolut doesn’t have fees for international transactions

      • any idea what their exchange rate is like ? also I thought they have monthly fees on their cards?

        • Close to what you see on google, few cents more usually. Free account doesn’t have any fees and you can have up to 10 cards (visa/mastercard both).

      • +1

But they do have 1% weekend fee. Which I forgot about. Should have used Up card

        • Really? I had no idea this was a thing.

Is this only for currency exchange or also for international transactions/purchases using cards? Upon a quick search I can only see info about currency exchange.

          • @ssn: I also thought it’s only for currency exchange.

Well, in my case, i put revolut in paypal then i used paypal to pay purevpn. Since I don’t want to share cc/dc details.
It charges revolut in usd. And there is 1% weekend surcharge.

Not sure if it makes difference if i charge it directly. But I don’t think so.

            • @tinx: 1% weekend surcharge in Revolut? For Revolut service? It's like paying in a restaurant with 10% weekend surcharge lol.

I use Wise, same amount in USD, no surcharge.

    • One of the free debit cards with no fees, I usually find mastercard cards work with a slightly better rate. They use the mastercard daily rate and visa fee free debit cards use the visa daily rate, both can be calculated on the visa or mastercard sites. Wise is good, but I find their rate fluctuates so if its going up you will likely pay more than regular visa or mastercard debit cards. Options to try are Macquarie, Up, Ubank, ING. All of those have no fees.

      • +2

I just paid using ING, got charged $167.71 which is accurate with the current exchange rate, seems to be fee free unless they charge some fees later on but I highly doubt it.

        • Definitely fee free (cant remember if you need to complete the hoops for that though)

          • @drspy00: Just checked my bank account and they did sting me with a "$5 international transaction fee", not sure about the hoops, ill make a few transactions and see how that goes.

  • Pretty Junk VPN. (Been using after they thrown me from Ivacy to PureVPN)

    • +3

Most people here are only in it to make that 30% profit I imagine, I've never used it personally but thanks for the heads up.

      • The VPN is just a bonus at this point haha as I already have a Surfshark from a deal last year. PureVPN only has Sydney and Perth servers while Surfshark has every major city of each state, and I need to use Brisbane for better ping so i'm sticking with Surfshark.

  • Seems to have tracked for the $109.95 USD one (167.63 AUD) at $162.05 with $210.67 cashback pending which means its $43.04 profit. Wonder how they came to the conclusion of $162.05

  • Can anyone explain why it tracked at $162.05 with $210 cashback? is there a topcashback exchange rate or something?

    • Excludes GST

      • Why would a US company be charging gst though? or do you mean gst from topcashbacks end?

  • Pure money! Thanks 😁

  • Didn't get tracked for me last time and it is very difficult to get a refund with purevpn. Definitely not worth the hassle. Just use cashrewards 98% cashback with nordvpn when available

    • So you say, they still give the customers a hard time who cancel within 30 days?

      • +1

It's called "customer retention". They try to keep customers by asking the reason of cancellation and giving some offers. Just give any reason like need the money and say no for the offers. Ask for refund. That's it. Get the refund like in 2-3 days. They'll send email about the refund.

Hello everyone….I did put an order thru PureVPN for the 2yr max plan and within half an hour it got tracked and showing as pending cashback in my topcashback account…..doing this mainly for the profit reason and so far no issues I reckon…..hope it gets tracked for everyone else…..if not do ask the rep @tightarse…..he managed to solve my doubts without any hesitation and was always helpful from the start…..

  • Every time I try to make a purchase, via Paypal or credit card, I get error saying unable to make the transaction. Does anyone have the same issue?

  • I use new gmail address for this transaction. Tracked in 39 minutes :)

I only use Chrome mobile browser in my android phone.

Previously got error to proceed with payment because PureVPN doesn't like certain email addresses. Email addresses forwarded by Proton mail don't work with PureVPN for example.

I use the new Gmail address as default in Paypal too. Paid with Paypal. All good.

Email address is the problem. Just change to different email address.

  • Only 2 servers locations in Australia sucks. Hopefully we see a 100%+ cashback for nordvpn and surfshark for black Friday sales

  • When will the cashback be paid?

    • apparently 14 weeks - i have pending cashback from August though it is marked as payable

      • @crackman Do you mean it's marked as Confirmed (not payable)?

My cashback tracking from PureVPN's purchase in August updated to Confirmed status on Oct 5th. Hopefully it will become Payable status soon.

        • Sorry yes it's marked as confirmed but not payable

  • Cashback didn't track. I've had a terrible experience with TopCashback, first the 35% offer for woolworths marketplace didn't track and now this. Cancelling my PureVPN subscription.
