    don’t miss out!

Missed the opportunity to say, "Dough-Nut miss out".

  • Hip hip

    • +4

Hooray! Now you can claim half of the usual free doughnuts..

    • Fatten that hip, yo!

  • +7

Guess we're having the OzB Christmas party on 13th at your nearest Krispy Kreme.

    SA is excluded…. Title pls

    • +7

      What a joke, yet again

    • +5

That's not very kind to SA

      • +8

        World (excluding SA) Kindness Day

    • +10

      It’s implied at this point.

    • -1

I came here to say please stop adding it to the title, it's bloody well assumed at this point.

  • +2

    Nothing is included for SA😂😂

    • +1

Over in WA we're pretty used to missing out on stuff too. They blame "Transport Costs" as we're 'isolated' but who knows. Often conveniently don't have warehouses located here too

  • +1

    SA lol always out ffs

    • they worried it could be street fights for the free stuff considering the economic situation in SA lol

  • Thanks OP

Went to KK store on the way to the office asking for free doughnuts and they say you got to mention what day it is or show the email to redeem it.
So I went with world kindness day in lieu of digging out the promo email which I also have anyways.

    • +3

The store I went to was very reluctant to give me the x2 donuts. They said I needed to show the social media post or the email, despite the website not mentioning it in the T&C's. I saw their printed internal memo and it did mention 'social media post or email'.

Thanks to @belongsinforums for the screenshot.

This is why I don’t want to go there—they would act like we’re begging them for free food.

        • Yup. Our (Ozbargainers) average income is well over 100K but yet we don't mind "begging" for a couple of donuts.

          • @DarkOz: Don't short change. The average is well over 100k. 250k is considered poor here.

          • @DarkOz: 😅😅

So dumb. If you’re doing a promotion to bring customers into your stores, don’t make them feel uncomfortable when they actually do so. A positive experience will go a long way to building positive brand association and repeat business.

Same with price matching, some places have a clear price match policy but then make you feel like you have spat in their face when you ask them to match a price. Like I get it, you may not be making much on this particular sale, but I chose to come to your store, a bad attitude will guarantee I never come back.

          • @max99: Exactly. this is like one of the most basic things a business should be aware of but the vast majority fail to understand this simple concept. It blows my mind how clueless they can be.

  • +3

The Town Hall store has bags of them ready and is giving them away pretty freely. I just said, "I'm here for the free donuts," and got mine :)

    • Taste fresh or from the warehouse (ie yesterday's unsold online stock)?

      • It would not be a great idea to give away old stock. It might be someone’s first experience with your product, the last you want to do is give them a stale donut to save a few cents after all the money you’ve spent on marketing to get them into the store.

        • They do it all the time with these promos, usually with the boxes.

          • -1

@wavesgreen: What do they do with the old stock the rest of the time?

            • @max99: Probably ends up in the boxes of online orders…

      • +1

        They tasted alright 🤷‍♂️

        • +1

Good, good. Thanks for the reply.

  • +1

Still massively overpriced. LA Donuts or nothing for me in Australia.

    • +2

LA Donuts in Beverly Hills yeah?! We love emmm and they're filled to the edges not just a tiny droplet in the middle. Soooo bad but soooo good

      • +2

        Absolutely. They are the best.

        • Thanks to your post, we popped out during lunch (it's 10min away from us) and grabbed 6 donuts. Clearly all your fault LOL

          • @ReaperX22: Sorry about that. LOL.

Thankfully its over half an hour from us so can't just pop out.

            • +1

@cnrmlj: Destroyed 3 donuts since lunch yesterday. Had one for breakfast. Hahaha. Time for 3 days worth of salads…

    • We've got a few great options in Sydney. Grumpy and Shortstop, too. Other parts of Australia probably aren't so lucky however

      • -1

Lucky lucky! yeah, we've seen your public transport and city traffic. so, you can have all your Doughnuts :)

        • -1

people love to whinge, but I think our PT network is pretty good. the train has been pretty reliable for me, and the new metro seems excellent

          • @beltdrive: Lived there a few years ago. I would summarise as follows:

            1. High Cost of Living: Expensive housing, dining, and utilities
            2. Traffic Congestion: Heavy traffic, especially during peak hours
            3. Public Transport Issues: Overcrowded, unreliable, and limited in outer suburbs
            4. Sky-High Property Prices: Hard to afford housing close to the city
            5. Limited Nightlife: Early closing times in many areas
            6. Pollution and Air Quality: Traffic and bushfire smoke affect air quality
            7. Parking Problems: Expensive and hard to find, especially in popular areas
            8. Tourist Crowds: most sites are often packed
            • @Ozsaver88: it definitely ain't cheap. but it's a great place to live if you can afford it IMO. I've also lived in Melbourne, Brisbane and rural Victoria, and Sydney is my favourite overall

              • @beltdrive: It wasn't about affordability. Sydney just isn't worth the money anymore. Again, each to their own.

I just showed them the instagram post and instantly received the bag of 2 donuts. Melbourne Central.

  • +1

They already had bags prepared at Chatswood interchange and just asked for the IG image.

  • -1

Man ozbargainers sure love to have a whinge even if it's a freebie…. 🤷

  • +2

Missed out as Brisbane CBD all gone already… must be a record. So many disappointed people being turned away.

  • +1

No signs or queues in Perth CBD. Just go up and grab a bag.

    • there were no signs because the social media team who organised the promo didn't inform the stores…

  • +2

Town Hall NSW stock exhausted. Central NSW still have stock 1.25

    • Just went past Central at 1:30 there was a queue but we all got our donuts

  • Macquarie "ran out of allocation". I call BS.

  • Acacia ridge, Brisbane, were still serving these at about 12. Just flashed the instagram post and they gave straight away.

  • Chatswood OOS

  • +1

Melb Swanston St OOS but Collins St still going.

  • +1

Auburn KK OOS. Said they should get more stock around 7pm

  • +1

I am now at Auburn they said no more stock while they have 5 on the shelf.. and said they are the “non give away donuts”

  • Mascot airport still giving out. got lucky and they gave fresh ones.

  • Lost my post. Anyway, the promo was not arranged by the usual means via head office, it was arranged by the social media team who didn't even tell all of the stores it was on today.

The stores that had no idea were a bit grumpy because they had not been told and people were just coming in for the 2 for free and not buying anything else. Which from their perspective meant that it was lost profit sprung upon them without warning.

That is what they told me.
