Hi,

I'm looking around for a great Christmas gift for my girlfriend.

My budget is $50.

Any recommendations?

Justin Beiber perfume pack $55 comes in a bag with pefume and also cream

    • +2

      ^ what he said

    • +2

or maybe just get her a "blow up" Justin Bieber Doll

      • -1

What justin bieber haters, didn't you know all girls need lovin too?

        get it?

    • Where can you get this for cheap?

  • mmmm…

  • +4

    Sexy Clobber, Everyone's a winner ;>)

  • Justin Bieber perfume is really nice, also I bought Britney "Fantasy" for the sister in law who was of similar age and she loved it.

    • I guess it depends on the young lady in question. My 20 year old daughter would sooner be scalped (and she is a hairdresser) than wear a fragrance named after either irrespective of how nice they smelled… Marilyn Manson though…

  • Thread full of trolls.

Perfume is nice, JUST NOT ANYTHING BY JUSTIN BEIBER, BRITNEY SPEARS, PARIS HILTON, MARIAH CAREY and the rest of the celebrity sellouts. Have a look in Priceline or Chemist Warehouse for special deals.

I would buy an experience rather than perfume. Perfume is an item best picked by oneself, unless you know what they use. For $50 you can buy a manicure and pedicure treatment.

  • +3

No trolls here just differing opinions. Hard to know what to recommend without knowing more about her. Perfume seems safe. You could ask one of her friends for advice.

  • Or a nice little giftpack from shops like L'Occitane, Crabtree & Evelyn.

Personally, I think Bodyshop is a bit 1990s. :) Hehehe.

  • +2

An ex-girlfriend of mine said to me once "a girl can never have too much jewellery". Go to your local craft markets, you can probably get some basic but nice earrings, bracelets etc for under $50.

    • +1 cant go wrong with jewellery

    • +3

My gf says not to buy her jewellery she'll never wear it lol

      • +31

So was mine. Never liked jewellery or expensive perfume. And now she's Mrs. OzBargain.

        • One day Scotty, you can hand it down to us haha

        • +1

Those girls are the best ones to marry, scotty.

        • +13

yeah. I found mine but for you guys sake, maybe there should be an ozbargain dating site to connect like minded couples :P

        • +2

          so …….
are you going to build on that idea @ scotty

        • +3

easternculture: Post yourself as a bargain?

        • +1

am i the guinea pig test subject :s

        • +1

I would never that ozbargain dating site. Hard to spot the difference with an bargainer and a cheapo.

        • +2

          separation by karma ;P

        • +5

Do it scotty! You have the power!

But I don't know if I want to be sharing my 'deal' with 2000 other Ozbargainers.

  • Does she drink coffee? To wit: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/87767

  • I don't recommend jewellery unless you really know what she likes. In the past I got a towel for my ex in her favourite colour and got her name embroidered on it. Add a few other personal things and that could work. Maybe some Swarovski crystal although that may be pushing the price.

    • +3

And that's why she's your ex.

  • +3

    A bottle of 21 year-old scotch? Oh, it's the GF that's 21 years old. :)

    • +4

i like that idea give her some think let grow with her.

  • +3

If that's her in the thumbnail, get her me (for freeeeee)!

  • Have you checked out our Christmas gift guide? :)

    • wow!

  • Chemist Warehouse good look at perfume is all ways a good gift has she hint what she want? i am get

    • +5

is all ways a good gift has she hint what she want? i am get

      I AM GET

  • me

I would recommend an Ainol laptop but you impose a tight wad limitation on your budget. She must really be only worth $50.

    • +2

Also she might take it as a hint ;)

  • www.stylop.com is having free postage till the 15th of dec - some cute jewellery/accessories for women :) free shipping code: FREESHIPDEC

  • I would say go to the local craft/ artists markets and get something ornamental/jewellery/cool with a story (you can ask the artist how and why they made it). The story or idea behind something is often worth more than the gift itself.

That being said, if you offered her a story or a 24 carat diamond… lets not kid ourselves.

    • I suspect a diamond solitaire would be sufficient.

Then again, she might get the wrong idea and he may be left with no girlfriend at all

  • -2

50 bucks is a bit low to be spending on a 21 year old gf, you have had all year to save a bit more to get her something special….

    • +1

You probably shouldn't be so judgemental. He may genuinely not be able to afford more than $50 for this person. The problem with saving for something is that there can be many things someone has to save for.

      • +5

Not only this but for many people Christmas is not important.

        • +4

Yeah, if you spent $50 on 20 different people, ie. mum, dad, girlfriend, best mate, aunt, uncle, cousin, brother, sister etc etc, that $1000. If you are a young uni student, that's heaps!

yup i just checked u can get her a 3 month gift pack $45. so each month for 3 months she will get an amazing package.. and u save $5 to buy a kogan microsim for telstra $29 deal!

    • How would you buy that for Christmas?

    • +1

This post is worded like spam

      • +1

Doubt it, my girlfriend was talking about them a while back, completely forgot - would make a good present

  • +1

    She already has perfume xD

The thing is that her family is really wealthy so it's not really the price tag I'm looking for but more experience ideas eg. Massage, pedicure.

But with presents I was always told you should never start with expensive as it'll end up more and more expensive each year.

I already splurged $200+ within the past week.

    • +2

how about you baking something for her? That could be completely unexpected!

    • +1

Something her dad will hate, she'll love that…….errrr just bring yourself :p

  • +6

Mate, just give her what she really wants for christmas. The 10 inches of Ainol tablet are more enjoyable than the 7" for her, especially for visual stimulation and finger touching, but it might be a tight stretch on your budget;)

    • You can hand me to her. Im good at that length.

  • -3

    Prada bag

    • For $50…maybe a "Parda" bag from the markets instead.

  • +1

Box of nice chocolate or other sweets from specialty shops. Or just made a Christmas card yourself and write few nice things.

As a backup, you can always resort to an SSD. Plenty of deals there and if she doesn't like it, there is always a use for an SSD!

  • +3

Ok i decided on a basket of little goodies including chocolates, flowers, card ect.

  • +3

I am reminded of this somehow…

  • +11

babe you asked oz bargain what to get me…? wow

  • perfumes are always a safe bet but it doesn't really tell her about how much you know about her.

If I were you, I'd get her something more personal and more intimate. Give her what she likes, not what you think she likes, or what you hope she'd like.

  • +2

Tickets to a girly flick at moonlight cinema, with the promise to provide the picnic.

  • It's the thought that counts a beautiful heartfelt card and a gift basket would be lovely and I'm with saine on the moonlight cinema picnic…the gift that keeps on giving just make sure whatever yu give there is a nice card!!

  • gold class and dinner OR perfume - check out chemist warehouse… eternity for women….

  • If the family has money, making it look thoughtful rather than extravagant is high on the priority list. My wife likes to get candles as gifts, the wide ones that burn slowly and smell nice. And, no matter what you get, include a card and make it a nice one!

  • buy her a necklase? a $50 one not justin bieber perfume what is she a 13 year old hipster? yeah no. shes 21 lol just had to point that out?

  • Seriously. Forget lingerie- it still says YOU want something from the gift. Go with something completely unselfish like a set of high heels from the Iconic website or similar. Even if you don't get it quite right, she will appreciate the fact you dared to try. And let her know in the card that her legs look great in heels, bah, blah blah….

    • A pair of shoes is a massive no no. So many particular styles. Then if she doesn't like it, she has to "pretend" they are really nice haha, a voucher to a shoe shop would suit better…

  • A 50 pack of condoms and a box of weetbix. Sure they're for your use but she gets the benefit :)

  • +1

    Get her swvoski crystals.

    • +1

Is this the cheap alternative to Swarovski crystals? But yea, these are really nice items and will hold a fair amount of sentimental value!

  • Something in Sterling Silver, from The Silver Shop, Najo, Thomas Sabo or similar might be a bit more than $50 but will give you some ideas for silver from cheaper jewellery stores maybe. Get chatting to the girls behind the counter and let them know your budget. Or try Sportsgirl, again ask the girls to recommend. I'm thinking scarf,or pj's plus other little trinkets stores like that sell.

  • oops OP was December last year!

    • And? Christmas comes around every year and this post is becoming more and more relevant again.
