What can be done about pseudo ozbargainers

Can the admin take note of members who neg a post or make comments about a post which has affected their individual entitlements?

For example, in the case of http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/87704 the hoopla about access codes for cheaper movie tickets…shouldnt there be some OzBargain code for these people to follow?

The OP posted in the spirit of OzBargaining, which is SHARING, right? There were some posts by people who were upset that their year long access to exclusive codes was cut or affected.

I can understand their grief but they should realise that this site has always come with its risks and that they have the choice to quit the site forever or go to some corner and lick their wounds…not attack the OP.

No wonder we have people too scared to post/contribute, but willing only to check out and benefit from the posts. Pretty soon you wont have any more genuine tipsters, only sock puppets.

I have no idea what your rant is trying to say. You want mods to make lists of people who's opinion you don't agree with?

In relation to that deal, I think the arguments that the OP should of just posted the separate codes rather than the master code exploit are valid.

Yeah whenever I see bargains that are too good to be true, I always wonder to myself if I would share or keep for myself.

The inevitable OzBargaining of the exploit, will almost definitely lead to closure of the exploit.

In this case, people would have been just as happy with a list of 5 codes that would have sufficed and kept the master code "secret" for future exploits.

There is certainly a case that such an action is also unethical. Point being everyone is going to have a different point of view.

I think the only thing that can be taken from this is to ensure that discussion is not agressive and/or targeted. Easier said than done.

        Agree with Bruce

Too-good-to-share deals like these are usually borderline exploits and unethical. I am perfectly fine if people choose to keep those to themselves. However those are rare and majority of the deals posted on OzBargain are genuine offers. I don't see why people would have problems with those.

People need to learn that they should not treat others online in the way they would not have done face to face. Although some might argue that the moral of the society has also declined over the years…

it was much better when we just stoned people we didn't like! Ethics, Morals and acceptable conduct all shift over time. Given the fast pace of technology no generally accepted rules have derived for the internet.

… this is not going to get us anywhere though, only thing I know is that problems like this are never going to go away.

Sure it's not going to go away. What technology does is enabling people to express it without the fear of consequences. Knowing the consequence of an action is an effective deterrent sometimes.

Yes we have observed the shift of moral and ethics, but whether that's good to the society is something else (which is of my own opinion).
