Hope you are well and i promise this is not wirtten by ChatGPT (wink).

So, if you're a YouTube Premium user , you might've noticed things getting a little… sketchy lately. Like, one minute you're streaming without a care in the world, and the next, you’re about to pay $40 aud per month or lose all your Premium perks and don’t even want to think about downloading some random app from the dark side of the internet. Well, don't worry – I’ve got something that might just save you from the abyss!

Inspired by This post from RebeccaSkittles who helped me obain a Disney+ plan (I believe it still works albeit it says expired). The method also seems to work for YouTube Premium, so you might just save your membership from going the way of the dodo!

Also adding the following from the comment which is something I wasn’t aware:

How to Redeem

  • Create a Turkey Apple ID: When creating your Apple ID, ensure that your region is set to Turkey to ensure compatibility with this deal. For the smoothest experience, use an Apple device with Safari as your browser. If the creation process encounters errors, try again on another device. Problems may occur on other browsers for reasons unknown. Create your Turkey Apple ID at appleid.apple.com.

  • Once Registered, go to Settings - click your name on top - select Payment & Delivery or Subscription to make sure you can keep you main apple account signed in but using the new turkey apple ID to sign in for subscriptions and/or payment.

  • Purchase Apple Gift Cards: Visit turgame.com(https://turgame.com) to purchase Apple gift cards in Turkey. Please note that it may take up to 20 minutes for your gift card to appear after purchase. Additionally, you might not need to complete the verification process. Simply view your order, and if no action is required, check your banking app to confirm if you've been charged. If you have been charged, your card is on its way. If not, or if you encounter any issues, contact their support at support.turgame.com(support.turgame.com). I had a 20mins and a 3hours procceing time for two different transaction.

  • Once you got them go to Apple store click on the upper right corner then redeem gift card or code, enter your gift card code and redeem you Turkish lira credit

  • Open YouTube on your phone make sure you signin with the account you want to set up for family plan. click your profile icon "you" down the bottom right and then select youtube premium membership, then there is a line of blue word i remember saying sign up family plan and follow the promp to complete set up.

Important Notes:

  • No VPN is needed to access this deal. Simply create a Turkey Apple ID and purchase Apple gift cards from turgame.com to take advantage of these incredible savings.
  • When redeeming the gift card in the App Store, ensure that you have an address handy. You'll only need to log out of the iTunes and App Store Apple ID, not your main one. This allows you to switch between accounts without interrupting subscriptions or payments.
    Known Issues and Tips.
  • Differnt from Disney+, you can only set up monthly payment for YT Premium so make sure you check your account regularly for balance.
  • Heard the same method applies to India with a cheaper price ($5 per month) but i dont know a place to purchase India Itunes gift card.

      Anything that runs IOS15 which in turn allows install of YouTube App to sign up with.
      Earliest Models that support = iPhone 6s (not the iPhone 6), iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE (1st generation), iPhone SE (2nd generation) and so on.

      Perhaps ask around family, friends, colleagues if they have one laying around in a drawer no longer used.

    Has anyone managed to get this to work while their main apple account is in an Apple Family? I'm having trouble setting up a secondary Apple account for payment because all purchases are charged to the apple family manager.

    I went through all of this on Dec 27. Cancelled the AU YT sub, so it lapsed today. I’m paying for the Turkish one but my app and all my family members are getting ads.
    The Google Family account only shows the lapsed AU sub.
    My iPhone shows that I’m paying for a Turkish YT sub but it’s just not working.

    Anyone got any ideas?

      The one that lapsed today, will assume that is a different account (sign in credentials for the YT app) to the new Turkish one?
      Have you logged out of the YouTube app and then signed back in with the new (already activated) Turkish credentials?

        The Google Family Manager and the Turkish Apple account are different.
        Isn't this a loophole that exploits that difference?
        If the Turkish Apple account and the Google Family Manager account have to be the same, then I'm up shit creek

      Which youtube account are you logged into on the iPhone? It should be the google family account manager's account.

    Hi hopefully someone can help. I set up with no issue for the first month. Now coming up to 2nd payment, my iTunes is saying 'payment method was declined' and is asking to update with a local card even though I have enough Apple turkey gift card credit on the account. Any advice?

      I got a similar email from Apple saying a problem with the payment method MAY prevent renewal of the subscription. But it all went through ok on the second payment.

    All setup. Thanks OP.

    I setup the Apple account on my android phone with Apple Music. Then used a Chrome incognito tab & VPN set to Turkey to do a new Gmail account & a new YouTube account. On the YouTube account it said it couldn't verify my country (don't worry about it- when you open the YouTube app on your Apple device it still works!). I bought a gift card on GA2- it came through instantly. Couldn't pay with PayPal. My ING card worked. I was able to use my Australian mobile number through the whole process.

    I'm all setup again and ready to go. It's been 2 months since I had Premium.

    After purchasing the Turgame itunes gift card, I went into the youtube App and followed the OP's final steps tp renew the family plan, a banner popped out ' while requested product is available in Australia, you need to purchase from Turkey since your itunes store account is set to Turkey'. My iphone's Apple ID is an Australian one, itunes app store account is turkey, I also change the country to Turkey in youtube app, but the banner is still there stopping from renewing. Does anyone know how to fix it? Could it be related that I previously signed up with Youtube premium via turkey using an Australian Bank card, then received an alert email that it got detected and cut off?

      I think you need to create a turkey appleID. I used an old spare iPhone so I didn’t have to stuff around with my existing appleID on my phone.

    I tried to set this up today but failed. I stuffed up by purchasing the Youtube Premium family subscription with my Turkish account before adding the Turkish account to my existing Google family.

    I can't add my existing Google Family Manager account to a new Turkish based family because it already belongs to a family and is a Family Manager.

    I can't add the Turkish account to my existing family because only the Family Manager can share the subscription. I assumed that every Google family member account could share with every other Google family member like Apple families do!

    Is there anything else I can do to share the Turkish Youtube subscription with my existing Google Family?

    Thank you OP!

    After some stuffing up I manage to get it sorted.

    1 problem I had was the location issue. "While requested product is available in Australia you need to purchase from Turkey since your iTunes Store account is set to Turkey"

    Steps I take to overcome this issue

    1: Reset the whole phone (My phone: ios 16.7.10 iphone X), this is to erase all the previous settings.
    2: Log into a free vpn that uses Turkey (I used this free app - https://freevpnplanet.com/), accept all vpn settings as per prompt on the app.
    3: Login to my current YT account (Make sure you have your google family setup in order to invite)
    4: At this stage, the payment should be showing as Turkey dollars.
    5: Pay as per prompt to finalize the YT premium access

    Hope this helps.

    Now to set reminder for next month payment.

    This worked for me just now, but it took me a couple of days. First, for setting up a Turkish Apple account, just use a Gmail address. I had no luck with non-Gmail. Gmail + Apple Music worked.

    I could not get past two-factor authentication with logging in to the appstore using my Aussie phone number. After clicking "continue" on the web page hundreds of times, it suddenly worked. Now 2FA worked with my phone all of a sudden. I was in the Appstore with my Turkish account.

    I bought 250 Turkish iTunes Card (Cost $10.53), added the credit, bought YT Family sub, and it worked.

    I've bought more Turkish iTunes credit now (1000 Turkish cost $42.12). Will top it up so it goes for 5 months total.

    I had a problem with Turgame, but it was resolved satisfactorily.

    I bought a 1,000 Turkish iTunes card ($AUD 44ish) with a disposable cc. The money was deducted but an hour later Turgame cancelled the order. So, they had my money but weren’t going to send me the gift card.

    This was a problem with the payment processor PAYTR, not Turgame itself. PAYTR withdrew the money before I did their little 2FA enter-the-one-time-code dance. So, the final authorisation occurred after the funds had already transferred. I think that threw a spanner in the works, esp when combined with a disposable one-time cc.

    I created a support ticket with Turgame, uploaded screenshot of the payment receipt and the order number. 4hrs later (12hrs after purchase) and they’ve emailed me the card and closed out the ticket.

    It was a good support experience.

      I use G2A instead of Turgame as G2A let you uses Paypal and the code pop up instantly on the account page.
      Its about 5-10% more than Turgame.

    My current YouTube Premium in Turkey ends on 15 May 2025. What is the best method to follow the OP method to keep my Google family and not lose all settings (eg playlists, histories, etc)? ie should I cancel my account now, wait for after 15 May, or should I try immediately?

        I’ve been using seagm.com for months with no problem. Just create an account with them and search for Turkish iTunes cards. Don’t need a VPN and you see the gift card code on the screen straight after the purchase. And they accept PayPal so you don’t have to give out credit card details.

PS I'm in the same situation where Google has just written to me saying that I must use a Turkish based account, or on 13 May 2025 they will cancel it.

            @d123: I think you can just let your current plan expire and then resubscribe.

            I use an old iPhone and have setup a Turkish appleID on it, and it stays logged in on that account. If you have an old iPhone or iPad you can use I think it makes the process a lot easier.

            I use my new iPhone to purchase the iTunes gift card on seagm and then put the gift card code into iTunes on the old iPhone.

            I subscribe to premium in the YouTube app on the old iPhone. I haven’t had to change anything on my YouTube app on my new iPhone - everything works as it did before. All YouTube apps on TVs and iPads work the same as before too. All that has changed is your payment method.

            It sounds complicated but once you have everything setup it only takes 5 minutes to top-up the Turkish iTunes account.

    Tried created an itunes account and was successful but it was deactivated within 24hrs of creation and now it is locked

    Tried created an apple music account and was successful but i get stuck when i try to login to my "Media and Purchases" on my ipad.

    Using the new account i get stuck at 2FA. I get through the 2FA for my email address fine (its a hotmail address), but after entering the 2FA code sent to my i phone i get this pop-up "Could Not Update Account: An unknown error has occured".

    Anyone else get this/get past this?

    But youtube will go activating your youtube premium, we will let your family members know by email,.
    But it never actually activates.

      Go to the app store and sign in with your Turkiye Apple id.
      Go to your youtube app and make sure you're signed in with the main account (this applies if you are intending to sign up to the family plan).

    Free Alternative I’ve been using

    Try Brave browser on iOS and PC (not sure of android) - basically works the same as Youtube Premium.

    On iOS - it allows Background play, PiP play, ability to download and best of all - ad free (blocks ads) - all for the sum of $0.

    Brave browser for ios/android has no ads on youtube (or anywhere else) and allows youtube playback in background / screen locked. Smarttube for Google vased TV. I gues the only use case for paif Youtube is Youtube.Musoc, but would probably just go Spotify family.

    I do this and it works great, but I only ever pay month to month as it's too much of a risk to be stuck with loads of turkey GC balance if they close this loophole. Its a 10 min job each month so not really much of an effort to avoid risk.
