Could probably buy one and sell it again when 50 series are on sale for a small loss
wow, that seems like a great price. I just can't help but feeling in need to hold for 5000
No rumours of 5060/Ti launch yet, so I'm not expecting below 1.1k+ AUD for new 5070/Ti series (and leaks point to only 5070 Ti and above have >12GB VRAM). Even if 5070 is 30% faster vs 4070S, and only 1k AUD launch msrp, this is still a good deal.
Great deal, I wish they made the 4070S with 16gb
Would my current 650w gold PSU be suitable? And do the cards come with a PSU adapter?
Yes and yes
easily mate, I got a 7900gre going off 650w and this is much more power efficient.
It was showing 3 available, so I posted in low-quantity deals and then it appeared that they have more stock now.
What are these worth normally 🤔
Typically could be had for around $850-$900 on average according to Pgrid. https://www.pgrid.com.au/gpus/geforce-rtx-4070-super
Didn't know about pgrid, thanks for link.
This or a 7800XT which has more VRAM but no DLSS for $699?
This 100% of the time, you probably do not need the extra vram, and this outperforms the 7800xt even in raster, not to mention dlss/ray tracing and better resale value down the line
Grabbed one thanks
Great deal. Wish i could justify upgrading the 1080 I have, but i barely game anymore. That sad realisation.
The 1080ti is still a beast, i only recently upgraded from it. Can easily play any modern game. I kept that whole gaming rig for it in the spare room, couldnt bare to sell it.
I have the non ti variant, but I'm still using it to play modern titles such as BO6 at 1080p 100fps or 1440p 65fps - its passable.
Actually a really good deal, closest from team Red is a 7800XT, which is around 10% slower, but isn't 10% cheaper, than this. Ordinarily that would be the go to, but at $750, unless you definitely need 16GB of VRAM (which is still nice), I'd go this I think too.
Would this be able to run 42 c4 OLED at 4K properly in games?
Optimised settings + dlss definitely, max native probably not
Thanks. Tossing around 4080 S and this. Value here compared to performace you get seems much better.$750 vs $1.4k
Yeah, and "quality" dlss, is shockingly above fine.
If you want that maxed out 4k 144hz then the 4080, otherwise this is fine and better value.
Man they're actually doing good deals for video cards on BF, wtf man…
Currently have an amd radeon 7800xt 16gb. While its a powerful card the drivers are rubbish and im constantly having issues.
Would the rtx 4070 12gb be a good replacement?
I keep reading comments that the 4070 16gb versions arent worth the extra $…
+1 I'm actually in the same predicament, especially with the drivers.
What issues are you having in particular? Mine are in relation to audio and the screen constantly dropping out, like when you change the resolution and the screen goes black for a second, but imagine that happening randomly, even when just watching youtube. Very, very annoying.
My games keep crashing and maybe related randomwlt while im gaming my whole computer turns off and it corrupts my windows boot, hapeoend like 4 or 5 times now. I did ram test and ram was good so i think its gpu but cant find anything in event viewer other than about my cpu's 3d vcache
@BananaMan007: Its a bit of an elimination process now, the only way to be truely sure its the video card is to try another one. If it still crashes, then you know its not the video card.
I used to have the same issue as you actually, turns out it was some update ms pushed out, i updated the bios on my mb at the same time just because.
@BananaMan007: How are you validating your ram tests?
Prime95? Y-cruncher? OCCT? And running them for 12 hours?
Because if your whole computer is crashing and you're getting a corrupted boot, rather than your gpu its more likely either ram, inproperly overclocked cpu or corrupted BIOS
Kinda similar. Mine apparently is because my monitor timings were off. I've tried safe boot driver uninstall, CRU, custom resolution settings in the Adrenalin, deleting the hidden PIP devices, changing values in Regedit. The Adrenalin custom resolution seemed to work the best, but my windows resize sometimes when I reboot.
@SunsetCowboy: Wow, didnt know custom resolution was a thing. Just changed some settings, lets see how it goes.
This is my first time using an amd card, at the recommendation of a friend. I just feel like i never had any issues with nvidia cards, which i have been using for a very long time.
@DiscoJango: Also forgot to add that the whole reason I started messing around with these things was because my VRAM clock speed would either be bugged to under load, even at idle or 0. Which had my GPU running at around 7 degrees warmer at idle.
Did you use DDU to uninstall previous drivers before installing the 7800XT? I remember having to do that for my nephew, moving from 1060 3GB to 5600XT. He had random black screen and stuttering in browser issues, especially with WallpaperEngine. Using DDU got rid of all of them.
Mine was a brand new build, so there was no previous video card installed. Unless i need to use ddu even for the same model graphic drivers?
Nah DDU only really required between major jumps (3 or more generations) or between brand (Nvidia <-> AMD). Usually driver updates, you don't need it.
Would this be a decent enough upgrade from my 6800 xt speedster merc? I bought it for $600 a couple of years ago.
Not really. This is prob 15-20% better in terms of raw performance. But has the benefit of DLSS etc.
I would just wait till 50 series tbh
Thanks! Seems like the way to go. I'd really only want to upgrade in time for GTA VI, if anything, that's probably a year after console launch though.
GTA VI is gonna be a loooong way off for a PC release and I’m guessing it’s also going to be super CPU hungry too, so keep that in mind if you’re budgeting for a future upgrade
You will save a bit power bills, slightly more fps, slightly better upscaling (DLSS) and better RT, but 4gb VRAM less. I will pay around $150 for the upgrade.
This is the price these things should be at launch!
What a price wow. Got one thanks
Out of stock now? :(
Bugger… late to the party :(
Sold out, mods update the post
Store frequently updates stock, keep an eye out
Oh no, missed it.
Store frequently updates stock, keep an eye out
Praying that it does
damn enquired on a GPU-less build from an ozb seller came back and this was gone :(
it was the one!! its the most-value-less-returns compared to the Ti Super 4080S & 5080
At least people can recognise a ripper deal instead of spamming "HODL" regardless of pricing
Damn, I bought the same card for $863 (-$45cb) yesterday based off this comment https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15962708/redir
At least I got it in stock. Not the worst.
Well, it launched at 1119 AUD in Jan this year, so down to 863 in <12 months isn't so bad.
Yup, same. Should have hodl for extra $100 saving.
After hitting refresh on OzB every 15 minutes yesterday for terrible deals the only thing I actually wanted drops on a frigging Saturday morning 🙄
same :(
Yeh its been weird this year, some of the best sales were even last week.
Thx for the post, I bought the same card in May this year for $880. Good that i still have the 28 degress Price Protection to claim for the difference.
Would this card be similar? Any reason not to get this card?
PNY GeForce RTX™ 4070 SUPER 12GB VERTO™ Overclocked Dual Fan DLSS 3
Also, not the same deal, but you can get the Gigabyte on Amazon for 845.07
Nah, It's normal 4070
Isnt the PNY $50 more?
Otherwise AFAIK it's 3 fans on the gigabyte vs 2 on the PNY, so it'll be a short king that could be a smidge warmer, but a smidge fewer watts…. I dunno.
amazing price
hodl or not
