I use the free version and it's great.
What annoys me about it though is that the location doesn't auto-update and stays on your preset location.

  • Can this one be installed on Android microSD card?

    • I had the free version installed on the micro sd, on my galaxy tab, if that helps.

    • Update: Yes

  • I use the free version. Whats good about the Plus?

    • +1

There's an overview of the features of Plus here: http://apps.weatherzone.com.au/weatherzone-plus/

Removal of Ads. High res / better maps, more frequent info, push notification (iPhone only). I generally recall having more 'user options' but its been a while since I used the free one to remember all differences.

Edit: The full list of extras are listed on each of the respective Stores.

      • I'm still not sure if the plus version is worth it at all. I don't see anything worth getting the plus.

        • Well I got it mainly to support the developers as I have been using the free version for years. But there are a few features that I really like and use much (e.g. 18 hour forecast) and I also feel it is a much better app overall.

Don't forget you can buy and if you don't like you can ask a refund within 15 minutes - that's what I did with Pocket Weather :-)

        • So Pocket Weather wasn't so good comparing to this hence you refunded it hehe =P

I was somewhat disappointed to see that the plus version lacks so many features comapre to iPhone exclusive….its just not fair to Android users

        • Yeah not that Pocket Weather was not good, I just prefer Watherzone Plus.

And I'm also extremely disappointed by the difference between Android and iPhone, I guess there is some business logic dedicating those decisions. I hope soon they will bridge the gap.

  • Can u make the widget's background transparent?

    • Doesn't appear to be an option on my Galaxy Nexus (with JB 4.2.1)

      • +1

Too bad, they need to do some work on the widgets, otherwise I would have bought it. I'll stick with free Android Weather.

great app - i use it daily!! Well worth $2 let alone $1!

  • No one thinks pocket weather is better than this?

    • so much better — met the creators once, they're really down to earth :)

    • I use both and I think this is better, especially the next 24 hours outlook + past 18 hours.

The only thing that pocket weather is better at its the graphics of the rain radar.

      My 2c.

Currently, for Android, Pocket Weather is twice the price ($1.99) - is it twice as good? The description looks promising though at face value most features look the same or very similar to WZ plus. I don't think I wanna pay for a second weather app. It's a shame they don't offer a free version.

  • No ipad version.

    • pocket weather does. $2.99 I think

Weather apps that use Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) data are the best for us Aussies. I use the Weather Australia app.

    • so does this one

      • Weather Australia is free that I know of. This one costs $$.

        • True, but you do get more for your money. I think mlburnian was just saying that the data comes from the same source.

        • +1

no, this one is available for free too…feel free to neg me

  • "Iphone only" x over 9000… would buy it if they go serious about android.

    • +1

Not sure what x over 9000 means but, the link I posted above for the overview of features looks outdated now. Most of the things that say 'iPhone only' next to it are actually on my Android version.. Eg. Interactive Radar, Marine, Tides, Moon etc are all there.

  • does it have tide charts real time?
    cheers

    • There's a static chart showing 'Tides from Wednesday' and there's the Marine Outlook with a 5 day forecast. Looks the same on both Android and iPhone versions, probably not what you wanted?

  • Would like to get this but…
What is an easy way to put money into my Google play account without a credit card?
Doesn't look like gift cards are available in Australia yet.

    • I bought a prepaid Mastercard from woolworths to use for Google play & amazon purchases. Single use card cost is $2.95 or get a reloadable one for $10 I think. Just an idea.

Gift cards will be great if/when they get here..

      • Got given a woolies prepaid credit card last year for Xmas…has been handy for google play all year :)

    • Alternatively, if you are with Telstra you can pay via your Telstra Account. I heard about this weeks ago but have just seen it available this week.

  • You save 50c and 50c then go to the dolla store and buy something for 1 dolla - Ozbargain user's representative

    • +1

Thanks Russell, but you actually save one dorrar here already

  • one thing i noticed in the local radar -the settings don't retract and give me full screen…(so the suburb i live in is hidden underneath)kinda annoying…when i pinch/zoom i can see it-but then the perspective is out.

    edit:(galaxy s3)

  • This is still half price and looks like it has been extended til 2nd of January 2013, according to info on Google Play store.

    Updated the expiry date.
