  • has anyone used it before? It looks like very poor hardware for Win8, should be very slow.

Should perform fine. Windows 7 and 8 run quite well on older hardware, whereas Vista was more resource intensive.

      • But 1.1Ghz CPU… I know that clock speed isnt everything, but 1.1!!! That's enough to scare me away.
If it was say 1.5-1.6 id be all over it.

Can anyone tell me how this processer would compare to say an E-350? I know its apples and oranges, but I'd like to know if the Celeron 847 being sandy bridge architecture is actually worth much or if clock speed is still mostly the determining factor. Comments?

I guess battery life would be better for starters..

    • I bought it for my mum. It's good for web browsing and skype. When I played some games it ran a little slow.

There are also i3 and i5 versions but screen is 14inch

  • I didn't know they still made Celeron chipsets…I thought the i3 took it's spot as entry level.

I bought one from goodguys for $420 about a month ago.. It's a nice little netbook, remember that, netbook and as such it does have a number of limitations, namely that the CPU is slow and lack of ram does hurt it.. However, 11" TOUCH screen, 320gb HD, USB 3 and a decent keyboard it does pack a great deal into a small package. I love it, I think it's perfect for what it is..

Strangely all the big retailers have it as a F202, whereas all the smaller chains its called an X202..

  • This is a bit like a tablet, with a keyboard :)

I actually had a look at it today, and the UI seemed fairly fluid, from what I could tell. Of course, that wasn't much, because Dick Smith stupidly password lock their laptops. What's the point of having demo products when you can't actually use them?
As far as I could tell, it was still $428 in store.
