NetGear D6300 Modem/Gigabit Router with BONUS A6200 Adapter $249 Pickup Add $17 Delivery to Bris

60

Cheapest i have seen this modem router yet, $249 pickup from Computer Alliance PLUS it comes with a bonus AC adapter valued at $99 so you can get up to the full 1300Mb/s it claims it supports. You can get it shipped for a reasonable $17 extra within Brisbane, not sure of postage cost to other states.
This is $35 cheaper than the last deal on here for this router but this also comes with the bonus adapter.
Sale looks like it started Sunday, not sure for how long though. I grabbed one yesterday.
Merry Xmas all :)

  • Wow 1300megabits over a 480megabit USB port it must be magic..

    • Just set mine up and its connected at 866.5Mbps over AC, so yeah guess it must be.. ;)

      • What is AC?

        • It's 'theoretically' able to achieve gigabit speeds over wifi. Also if you don't already know, this router is also backwards compatible with N and G standards, etc.
          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11ac

        • Got time for a benchmark with a few avi files? Average speed when each file is half way done is good enough…

Don't have any at the mo. When Netgear pay me to promote their product i'll gladly do some tests for them.

lol it takes like 5 minutes..geez

        • Whatby putting this deal up you are already promoting netgear.

        • just do a copy of your page file (easily 4gb) and then transfer them.

        • @marchi real 5 minutes or 5 microsoft minutes? ;)

      • Do you have a device which supports AC other than your router?

    • These things are mostly a waste of money, I have yet to see anything that reaches over 150mbps and even if it did you have to carry those silly USB dongles with you

      Here is an example:
      http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/802.11n-wireless-router-…

My fastest so far is a $30 Buffalo ADSL2 modem router that reaches 7.5MB/s, even that can at times go down to good old 4.5Mb/s

      • Huh? I have a Netgear WNDR4500 at home, and with my laptop's Intel 6205 I constant get 20MB/s during file transfer…

Maybe you should do some research before posting uninformed comments? Real world tests have shown 2 bridged R6300 802.11ac routers pushing up to 473 Mbps of real world throughput (approx 59 MBps)

This USB dongle appears to only support 2 spatial streams, meaning it tops out at 867 Mbps (as opposed to the Router which supports 3 spatial streams, giving the 1300 Mbps figure)

So, logically if you take the real world figure of 473 Mbps for the 3 spatial stream setup, and work out 2/3 of it's performance, you get ~315 Mbps (39.4 Mbps). This should be a reasonable indication of what the Router/USB dongle setup is capable of. This would indicate that the USB2 interface on the dongle will be the limiting factor in some cases. Begs the question of why Netgear didn't use USB3…

    • Not to mention much of the 480mbps is used for protocol and not all avail for data.

This is better than the flingshot deal with just the modem router itself. Last time it cost me 288 AUD. This one include a free usb dongle. 29 buck shipping to WA is not bad.

  • $17 delevery to Sydney. only DD, BPAY, and CC avaliable. no Paypal payment method. :(

  • Is the Netgear D6300 like the R6300 but it is also a modem as well? This seems like a better deal than just the R6300 which is only the router.

    • Yes thats right the D6300 is the same as the R6300 but with the ADSL modem built in.
