Johnnie Walker Blue Label - $199.99 for 1 lt at vintage cellars, looks like on line and in store, this equates to $139.99 for 700ml which I think is top price

  • whats the normal price for this?

    • -8

its a good price but its basically 1 litre of blended paint stripper

good for people who collect this crap but not to actually drink

      • +4

I'm always amazed by the whole 'we must hate anything successful' mentality and favour some obscure lesser known single malt. This fact is that this is a very good blended Scotch. You can argue whether the price point is appropriate but to compare with paint stripper only reflects a sense of ignorance or arroganc but I will let others decide which is relevant in this case. It is like saying a $500k Ferrari is like a go kart because it is priced high due to brand and exclusivity.

  • about $250 duty free

    • think this is 189 duty free

    • sydney airport will set you back $235 for the one litre… so this is great.

  • Not a spirits drinker, but are the Blue, Black and Red JW bottles supplied in this fashion?

    Lol. Not srs.

    Well a little srs.

  • Cheers OP, purchased, $207.94 delivered to Melbourne

  • Im sure I saw it for $180 at Woolworths (Glen Waverley)….but not sure of the volume.

    • its probably the 700ml standard bottle

  • Is this really worth the $?
Red label is $39 taxfree for 2.25 ltr.

    • +2

Red label is $hit (even with Coke) at least treat yourself to Black :) If you can't stretch to Blue give the Gold or Green a whirl, very nice and probably the best value as far as the Johnnie range goes - imo

      • I haven't opened my Red yet but will let you know how bad it was.
I am normally not that fussed, enjoy any Whiskey regardless of the brand/type.
I'm here at ozb for a reason (but I'll try black next time)
They say, once you go black, you never go back, but it may be about something else :-)

        • Just had a red label on the rocks, and it was very nice. I guess I have never been exposed to better whiskeys, that's why I (still?) enjoy the cheaper ones.

      • good lord! how many colours are there? Not a scotch drinker you see:)

        • RED, BLACK, DOUBLE BLACK, GREEN, GOLD, PLATINUM, BLUE, KING GEORGE V EDITION BLUE

          …so 8 if I'm not missing any.

  • Great price thanks for the post! You can argue about the quality of the product but this price is no doubt a bargain compared to usual pricing :)

  • I think i saw in costco only about $169 something like that..

    • itll be the 700ml

  • Omg so tempted

  • $200 4 1 litre lol.

A real ozbargainer is also a tightwad, not some yuppie looking to save $10 on a bottle of Dom Perignon.

These ads should be gotten rid off. The stupid yuppie would not be able to tell the difference if you simply refilled expensive booze with cheap booze.

    • This ridiculous comment is deserving of a ridiculous reply… 'purple monkey dishwasher'.
