Awesome, I knew there was a reason I didn't buy her a Christmas present yet!

Someone's gonna get into a lot of trouble either way.

$59 is the price for those wondering.

This is one of the 3300 series from Philips. Not top of the range model, not bottom barrel, somewhere in the middle which is about where I would spend money personally. I've heard many say anything from Philips above $50 RRP (this is $120) are good.

  • No safety auto shut-off is a turn off

  • What are these things for?

    :p

    • Sandwich press ;)

  • Safety shut off is a feature where if you forgot and left your iron for hours, it will automatically shut off. Its a nice to have, but only if you spend a lot of time ironing. Ironing is a pain to me and I want to get it done with asap, so I don't envisage using this feature at all.

DJ has been selling the better model for only $64.95 for more than a month now. The better model has a better sole plate

Celentt, what model is that? With boxing day sale I think their irons have a 20% off, which would make it $51.96. If it is a newer and better model, please share thanks. I'm not sure about the sole plate being superior to this model btw. Looking at Philip's website, even their flagship model the Azur range, when describing the sole plate, says "SteamGlide soleplate is Philips premium soleplate" which is exactly the same description as this one. I suspect there may be no difference in the plate:

  • Been using Philips Irons for years - though usually go for the higher spec models. Recommend them over most other brands I have tried.
