Hallenstein returns?

I've read their FAQ but still confused about returns.

I bought some Chino pants and Mullie shorts. Found out they're one size too short.

Is there a form I have to fill out? Not feeling very secure about sending returns to an address and hope for the best.

I've ordered the wrong size or colour, how can I exchange it?

You can exchange the size of any product you buy at our online store at any of our retail stores, or by sending the product back to us at our distribution centre. Please note that the online store may be out of stock for the new size and colour you are after. Please note that items purchased in store will have to be taken to a store and cannot be received by our distribution centre.

For New Zealand returns, the address for our distribution centre is:

Webshop Returns
7 Kordel Place
East Tamaki
Auckland
2013

Will I have to pay another courier fee for return or replacement product?

Postage charges on returns are not refundable. However, if you are returning an item for exchange (i.e. the same style is being changed for a different size or colour), you are not required to pay for standard delivery on the outgoing parcel.

  • Out of curiousity, one size too short as in you bought 32, when your a 34? Or the other way round?

    • I got 30 instead of 32 :)

  • Nah just email them and they'll send you a pdf form which you print, fill in and send to their centre in Sydney.
Then if you want to exchange it, what I had to do was get a refund then buy it again with a coupon.

  • I don't understand how the "…if you are returning an item for exchange, you are not required to pay for standard delivery on the outgoing parcel."-bit works. I'm in a position where I want to exchange an item (82cm slim trousers for 87cm regular fit trousers), so I emailed Hallensteins with a couple of very specific questions about exchange (not the ones below) and received a polite but vague answer back.

Do I somehow post the item like Return To Sender (RTS) and avoid the charge?
Do I pay outgoing postage and Hallensteins refund the postage cost?

Could anyone assist by telling me the specific process for this?

    • It means YOU pay to send the item to the Sydney returns address and THEY pay to send the new item that you order as the replacement for free, even if the price is less than $50. They don't do exchanges only refunds so you have to reorder the correct size and it gets sent for free to you.

No you cannot return to sender as the mail has been opened. And no they don't reimburse you for the shipping. It's not fair for them to pay shipping each way. So its only fair that they pay once and you pay once.

      • Ha, yeah that makes sense :P I guess the 'outgoing' bit threw me.

        Thanks, Weezle.
