Samsung DA-E750 Dual Dock with Valve Amp $.297 JB Hifi (Pick up)

130

My first submission so please tear into me. I just picked up this dual android/apple dock with vacuum tube valve amps.

2:1 channel
60w subwoofer
40w glass fiber speaker
charges device in dock

Reviews seem very good, and there is a huge $301 discount on the unit at the moment. I called through to the JB at Pitt St to get one held, only two left there after I bought mine

I should have added that it is +$18 delivery (may be some variance depending on where you are

me no understand what you mean?

      • Thanks

    • To many ask for leniency on their first post!!

want to buy… but must save for less luxurious items lol…

  • looks like a good dock, T3 Mag listed it number 6 in its top 10 docks

agree, one of the best reviewed and has classic looks

      • Most of the reviews I read agreeded it was not worth the money. Waaaaay overpriced for what you get.

But considering this is $200 - $300 cheaper than a few days ago when I went into JB - Good Deal.

        • lack of FLAC
          a pain
          bellow the back

        • +1

It was $700 when first time released!

ofcourse people gasping, why on earth an old tech vacuum tube (that has to be warmed up first) worth that kind of money??

but at this price, it starts to get interesting :)

        • Valve amps kill solid state when you get them red hot

        • You can hear a difference….. And I'm a sucker for the audiophile brownie points that a valve amp provides

        • I suspect that if your device plays FLAC and you are using it via the dock it will work… And there is always the line in. I will test FLAC via DLNA and via rock and get back to you on that

        • nice work

        • +1

FLAC files play fine in dock mode (provided that your phone/device will natively play FLAC) I tested this using my Galaxy Nexus. You can always use the "line in"…but you cannot play FLAC via DLNA (I suspect this is because the dock is required to decode the FLAC files by itself rather than letting the device decode the FLAC and simply use the line-in feature (or dock connection as a line-in)

        • you make Dr Karl proud!

Warning! this is not for Iphone 5!!!

Still ok with Iphone 4S (old docking)or stream with wifi

Can probably work with a lightning to old-style connector?

      • I was thinking that. But I'm not an apple person so I was not to bothered by that

Great price, I was admiring this in store before Christmas but would have likely bought on eBay if this deal hadn't have come along.

    • +1

Yes, I forgot to mention that, but you can use AirPlay via a iPhone 5 I think

  • Just got it all working….plays from my Netgear Ultra 4 (DLNA Server) and works very nicely with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Sounds beautiful…I am very pleased that such a small dock pumps such nice sound.

Thank you for all your comments!

  • Must…..not….be…..tempted………

I would have been all over it if i haven't bought my JBL on Stage 400P at half price when JB had it for sale couple of months ago…

I wonder how it will hold up against this Samsung one in terms of sound quality….

  • Here's a review from What HI-FI for anyone interested.

    • Congrats…. Hope you enjoy it. Setting up DLNA is a bit fiddly but it works nicely when you get it

The tubes are sealed in the chamber and are 12AU7. You could probably roll tubes if you find a way inside. But if the tube blows, you'll need to disassemble the unit to get inside.

    • I didn't even look into that purely because this was such a good deal….. Maybe someone has a tutorial online…..

      • +1

if a hammer doesn't fix it
        it's probably electrical

  • Got me again

  • Still seems to be in stock! I have been using mine since yesterday and am very pleased!

  • +1

Good find…Just ordered online as they no longer have any stock in VIC….now awaiting for store pickup (being transferred from another state i suspect)….

    • Fingers crossed you will have your dock sooner rather than later

      • Got mine, but look like JB have taken the link down…no more stock it appears

  • Is anyone else awaiting for a stock transfer? Placed my order for store pickup and just wondering if anyone else is still waiting?

    • +1

Yep, placed order 2 weeks ago and still waiting. Rouse Hill JB Hifi. Let me know when yours is coming.
