No visible expiry on these so they should be good for a while (until their licensing expires).

    • +3

I dont think they'll be done with their meme for a while.

      Good ol broadcast SBS;
I always enjoy watching the Fifth Element, 5 times, starting at 5pm, on the 5th of the 5th.

    Where's the deal?

    • +6

      Free to air TV….

      It's a bargain…

    • +3

Life Of Brian movie.is the real deal.

      • Romanes eunt domus!

People called Romanes they go the house?!

    • Not here

    • Instead of having to pay for streaming or be involved in something dubious, you can watch things for free with usually less commercials than TV.

    • There's no deal, this is literally just free to air TV with ads

    • -5

It can be rented/bought and is part of paid subscriptions, so it's fair game in my opinion.

I watch scrubs and close the app. Confirm have not been brainwashed.

      • +3

That's exactly something someone who was brainwashed would say.

        • +1

That's exactly what someone would say who was brainwashed but doesn't want you to know they've been brainwashed.

    • +6

They suck you in with good, free content, then the Australian government hoovers up the data that I watched Austin Powers!

Next thing, black helicopters at my door looking for my submarine lair.

    • +2

Wow. From SBS to USAID. Amazing someone like you -"Phoebus, from Brisbane"- still uses the public internet…you know they are watching you, right?
And that's what they want you to think, right? Mulder said so, right?

    • +1

You know the millions has been debunked right? It was $44k for subscriptions for data on specific news topics. Nice try

    • Fact check: Politico doesn't receive USAID funding. Employees at USAID had subscriptions to Politico-owned publications. Trump falsely claimed it was more than US$8 million in funding, when it's just US$44k in magazine subscriptions across the whole organisation.

I've seen things on SBS you people wouldn't believe. Eat Carpet on fire on Friday night. I watched C-beams glitter on Les Murray's hair near the World Cup Stadium. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

  • I wish there was a way to rip/download these movies off of these TV apps like SBS on demand.

    • Yep. If you want to keepba copy, you're stuck with regular old recording it, like the VHS crew used to do from TV. Share their pain.

    • There used to be.

    • Stacher7 works with SBS on Demand.

what’s with all the comments that are like “SBS is the Antichrist the 2nd coming of the devil satan!

as if you got recommended a fb propaganda post with a ai image that has the letters SBS and a big hairy monster about to eat the baby it’s holding. daddy chill..

SBS saves me from having to pay for another sub a few months of the year.

and as I said before if you use a _ _ N you get zero ads, not even a blank screen with a pause you can watch the whole movie uninterrupted. so it’s basically a 100% free streaming service.

the selection is decent too, a mix of new releases, story focused and good foreign movies. a bit too much of focus on erotic category which I have no interest in, but I guess certain % of viewers love watching those so they are always there.

as I said haven’t had to use my free trial of Mubi yet because I watched most of them on SBS.

the only downside is I notice a bit of pixels on some movies, I rarely notice it though and you aren’t watching the new Transformers so it doesn’t matter. can’t complain when it’s free.

have you seen the selection on Tubi? It’s 90% trash which you have to swipe through to find something just ok to watch.

  • Is it the crappy US cut of Austin Powers with all of the comedy removed?

  • +2

Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery is free to watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/23z4yYgy35Q

    • Which is also not a bargain as it's also the normal price.

      • At least the YT option is easy to watch without ads. Also available in 1080p.

  • +2

SBS on demand is always free with ads, so this isn't a bargain.

  • +1

    Yeah not a deal.

  • Interesting that 2 perfectly valid recent posts about content on SBS On Demand have been removed due to 'Trolling', yet the posts from this user remain up. Favouritism?

  • anyway to remove / block ads, they're too long IMO, yes I know SBS needs the revenue

AND … X-Files has been on there for at least 5yrs

  • My DNS ad-blocker appears to work well with the SBS app on Apple TV. Obviously no ads, but the app doesn't get hung up on it either.

Why not list every program on tv?

  • +1

Please stop posting this garbage. Ads for free to air TV streaming services are not bargains.
