thats a good price, where from?

Im not a huge fan of this one. I think Ardbeg or lagavulin are better value for a similar price.

    • agreed, those and Laphroig… been sipping an 18yr over christmas - different league. However the 10/12yo Islays are much better value and taste for your $80 than an 18yr blended.

This is a good price for 18yr Chivas, but you should really be reconsidering your scotch options at this level of $$

Duty free is 1L + satchel.. So no real deal here, unless you plan to get it delivered then at least its cheaper then dan murphy's

This is a crazy price for this whisky
This price is cheaper than Dan murphy's.

    $1 cheaper. Relax…

    • $7 for delivery with Dan murphy's

      • Dan Murphy have 163 stores, nearly the entire population live near one.

Boozle says Liqorland have it for $75 but I can't confirm. Anyone got a catalogue?

It's an OK deal, but hardly a "crazy price" as you stated.

Liquorland (both in NSW and VIC and possibly elsewhere) has it for $75, Dan Murphy's for $85 and 1st Choice also for $85. In the case of Liquorland and Dan Murphy's you can use discounted Coles Group or WISH gift cards too (commonly available for 5%+ off).

Not to mention Dan's and 1stchoice will price match.

I once knew an 18 Year Old Scottish lass I would love to have had bottled and delivered!!!

Hopefully no "12 Year Olds", though.

  • Sorry this is not a good price. I get them at $75 at first choice and dans they are regularly on special.

    • Only in SA it seems. Currently shows up as $85 in every other state. But, yeah, <$80 is a pretty standard in-store price for this nowadays.

  • I have a 29 year old bottle of Chivas Regal(12 years) :o

Got it as a b/day prezzy a long while ago, would it taste alright?

    • As far as I know, it should. Maybe if the lid was off it wouldn't?

    • It should be fine, but the cork may have gone funky and break off and leech into the whiskey (speaking from personal experience / tragedy).

Agewise, it definitely won't taste any BETTER than 29 years ago because it's out of the wooden barrel, and has stopped aging.

Also if you got a bottle of whiskey 29 years ago for your birthday…. Wow you're old ;)

  • No deal here. I can confirm that Liquorland has Chivas 18yo for $75 until the 1st of January, nationwide with a few exceptions. So grab it there or use it as a price match for your preferred outlet.

    • Thanks for confirmation, this was never an amazing price.

  • From memory, Costco Auburn has Chivas 18 Year old on special two months ago for about $55.

Dan refused to price matching quoting that Costco requires a membership to shop.
