$11 Cashback on Boost 50GB 28-Day Prepaid SIM for $13 Delivered (Ongoing $39, 50GB For First 3 Recharges) @ TopCashback AU

880

Costs $2 after cashback. Pay $13, get $11 cashback. Boost 50GB 28 Day Prepaid SIM is discounted to $13 from $39 (excludes eSIM).

My notes:

  • Please note that letting the number expire and not recharging is eligible for cashback.
  • Please don't deactivate or port away until you receive the cashback. Deactivate means requesting Boost to remove the number.
  • Terms and conditions are from Telstra/Boost and apply to all cashback providers. Confirmed with the rep tightarse.

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable. If the SIM is deactivated prior, Boost may decline cashback.
  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it will result in an untracked purchase and the purchase will be ineligible for cashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on eSIMs, recharges, phones, bundles, accessories.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the pink cashback button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • Any accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the cashback system will be banned and cashback forfeited.

From Boost:

50GB for the first 3 recharges for new customers only, 25GB from 4th recharge. Activate by 10 March 2025, 3rd recharge by 10 May 2025. Incl. international calls.

    Missing the old profit days.

    Still decent a deal tho.

Does turning off auto recharge count as deactivating?

    • Boost does not auto recharge (unlike the other brands). You would not recharge, let the number expire and be eligible for cashback.

      • I see. Thanks for your explanation

      • May I just clarify, does that mean if you port your number out to another provider on the 28th day, that you won’t get the cash back?

        • Correct….it's as per OP first two notes up top.

  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase: TopCashback. On activation by 10 Mar: https://boost.com.au/?utm_id=82559&cfclick=023b1ce6a0f44b4ca…

    Conflicting T&Cs ?

    • Activate within 30 days to get cashback, activate by 10 March to get bonus data.

        If I activate,
        1.after 10-Mar-25, &
        2.within 30 days of purchase,
        I'll only get 25Gb?

  • Unfortunately the last boost cashback did not track. Raised a support ticket and waiting for boost to reply back now. Not sure if I want to take another chance. Anyone had any issues?

    • +1

Sorry to hear. I haven't had issues with Boost tracking.

My purchase tracked in 4 minutes early this morning. Tracking time varies depending on batch reporting and would usually track from a few minutes to a few hours.

Missing cashback claims usually take about 2 to 3 months to be resolved/paid. That has been my experience with TopCashback, Cashrewards and ShopBack. Sometimes even longer e.g. still waiting and already 7 months with Cashrewards.

If you are buying this SIM, please check the T&Cs "What else is essential" on tracking. I used TopCashback app on phone with Chrome browser, Boost website (not app), mobile data (avoid Wi-Fi), no antivirus, no VPN etc.

      • I went through TopCashback app which worked for me last year so I am not too sure why it did not work the last time.

    • Boost has nothing to do with the cashback tracking or not. You want to contact TCB.

      • Sorry, meant to say that I've raised a support ticket with TopCashback and the status of the ticket is waiting for Boost to reply back.

TopCashback has a record that I clicked through (as it gave me the option to select which click that I am raising a support for) so I am a bit confused why it did not track after that.

Boost has nothing to do with the cashback tracking or not

        Pls provide details.

Interesting: this implies Boost rely on solely on TCB tracking-system to identify referred-purchases & don't have their OWN-tracking to keep TCB-honest.

CashRewards & ShopBack: feel free to share their tracking system also. Thanks.

Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later.

  • Here we go again!

      Your concerns?

  • +1

    Thanks, tracked in 4 mins.

    • Same.

  • Can you buy whilst overseas or will it not track?

    • I've had very recent success with TCB tracking whilst overseas - it wasn't a Boost transaction, but the process is the same. No guarantees are made by me though.

  • Anyone know how long the sim stays active for receiving texts after the 28 days? Does it immediately stop working or can I keep it for a while for 2fa purposes?

    • +4

After the 28 day expiry, the Boost SIM will be active for 6 months. You can receive text messages, connect to Wi-Fi, send messages etc. After the 6 months, the number will be automatically deactivated and removed from your Boost account.

      From Boost:

Your Pre-Paid SIM card will be automatically deactivated 6 months after the expiry date of your last recharge.

      • +1

        Awesome, thanks.

  • Would switch to esim after activation void the cashback?

    • +3

Cashback is eligible when you buy the physical SIM, activate and switch to eSIM. Make sure it tracks and wait for the physical SIM to arrive. Here is one comment and there are others that have switched to eSIM. Applies to TopCashback too.

  • Got an error message "Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later." Does anyone know the reason? Thank you. I used Google Chrome Browser and tried different bank accounts. Any limit per postal address?

    • +6

Boost seems to have this error message that has been reported by new customers that have never used Boost or Telstra as well as existing customers. It may be due to security reasons with payment card, existing customers who have too many Boost numbers etc.

It doesn't always work but you can try changing one or more of the following:

      • Vary your name e.g. Pete instead of Peter, Bob, Rob instead of Robert etc.
      • Type in your address manually (line below) instead of using the default address that comes up in the search.
Vary a little e.g. St instead of Street, Ave instead of Avenue etc.
      • Use a different email.
      • Change your payment card i.e. use a different bank (Just saw your edited comment).

I've tried so many time with the given advice. I can't make any order

  • How long would generally it take for the cashback to become payable?

    • Usually in about 3 months.

  • Topcashback i can't login to my account, can u have a look in to it, i've sent the message request few times now, still nothing.

    • Yeah same here. I suggest contacting @tightarse if you haven't heard back from TCB Customer Service.

  • I am Having issue with lon in to my topcashback account. keep saying Phone number already exists in our database, please provide an alternative number.

i am using the same number not sure who to contact now. i have send multiple emails to topcashback team past few weeks. no reply.

    • A few of us experiencing log in issues with TCB. I suggest contacting @tightarse here on OzBargain if you're getting nothing from TCB Customer Service.

        @beboppy @wavesgreen @pratikdave19

Please message me your TCB email address. Not sure why you can't log in and will flag with the UK right away as they'll be online in the next few hours. Cheers guys :)

        • I sent you private message.

  • Not tracked after a day… 🙁

  • Off-topic & apology.

I just saw Lyca-Boost purchased 5-Nov-24: turned-payable. Previously estimated-payable noted 14-weeks & was concern if Lyca will honour the deal. Well done TCB.

OMG I actually purchased something from Boost

    • 🥳 Well done. You are free! Has it been about 6-7 months?

  • I remember in the profit days, it said it needed to be activated in 30 days. People claimed it wasnt necessary so I sat on a load of them and used them as needed and then had cashback rejected all the unactivated ones. Still completing them now. Does it have to be within 30 days? I have been using these and activating as needed with a dual sim.

    • +1

Well that's the issue. You might leave it unactivated and get the cashback, and then the next time you do that the cashback gets declined.

Officially they must be activated within 30 days for the cashback to be approved. If you don't, you're just taking a risk rolling the dice.

      • +1

Activate within 30 days also applies to Everyday Mobile and Vodafone. 60 days for Lyca. Most of the time, they have the bonus data attached which also requires early activation. You would be taking a risk if not activated within the time frame. It doesn't always work out.

        • +1

I don't care about the bonus data as I get a new number every month, been doing this for nearly 2 years with free or cheap sim cards. It confuses people, but its a good saving. Already got one of these, so might be able to squeeze in another one, guaranteed to be activated within 30 days, and have about 3 left from last years deal which already failed so have until the end of the year to use up.

          • @drspy00: Why not port the number? Unless you are using the new number for offers

  • Does anyone know if they enforce the 150mbps or 250mbps capped speed? I forgot which for which tier.

    • From Boost:

150Mbps download speed cap will apply on 4G and 5G networks.

      • Yes but I've read one report that caps aren't enforced so wondering if it's only enforced in high demand events like Nye.

Im curious if more than one person has unlimited mobile data.

        • Sorry don't know.

  • How easy is it to port out and back in with a $2 Telstra sim - how long odes it take and can I keep my number? I have a physical Boost sim.

    • Don't use a Telstra SIM with Boost or vice versa when porting as they are considered the same.

      • $2 Telstra SIM has been reported to work for porting in from Boost and out.

        • Best avoid if possible to save calling them if things fail. Just grab any other…..there are plenty of options.

    • In case of issues, choose a business (work) day to port out and in. You can keep your number. Please see here, here, here, here and here.

  • Won’t let me complete the purchase. I bought one for my partner using her name and it went through without asking for ID information. When trying buy my own it says‘ something went wrong’. I tried changing minor details still not working. Can I buy in my wife’s name again and activate it in my name?

    • +1

Don't see why not as it's no different to me buying and giving to others to activate and use under their own name.
Buying doesn’t require ID, that's only required when activating.
Sidenote. This deal is marked as expired.
