      Different shoe

Thanks!! Got some lows in 10.5, good price

  • +1

These are harder to break in because the fabric is thicker. Worth keeping in mind.

    • Has always have been the case, they are very narrow.

The new normal ones are thin/flimsy, but seem good out of the box. Doesn't feel like they would last and sizing bit different.

Wow I didnt know Catch was going broke

Is the rock you live under cozy?

      • +1

Yes, super cozy, sometimes I move out of the shadows and discover a thing or two. Thanks for asking.

  • Is any converse model comfortable to wear for all day / commute to and from work etc.

    • +6

Nope. These shoes while good looking gives feet pain! I'd rather wear a good looking sport shoe. Like Nike, Adidas

      • I wouldnt play basketball in them, but they are fine for casual wear.

      • +1

Thanks. Dunno why the neg on my comment was, it was a genuine question. Most times i go show shopping i try some converse on the way (at dfo) and i never felt comfortable in them.

I began to wonder they’re like high heels for men where only worn on office floors or at functions 🤷‍♂️.

    • +1

they’re fine. Probably above average as far as canvas plimsole style shoes go

      • +4

Dunno why people are negging me

Millions of people have worn shoes like these all day every day over the past century

Now Hokas etc exist and people are precious about wearing anything other than ultra cushioned runners

        • +1

it's because there are so better shoe choices around and shouldn't need to subject your feet to them.
However I get it and like the simplicity, pretty old-school skater look blue jean, black tee and some black lows.

          • @G-rig: It’s the most iconic sneaker of all time. Sometimes you gotta suffer a little for the fit

            • @beltdrive: Yeah mate i got some black and white lows for that reason. Just saying they aint what they used to be (see other comments). just wouldn't wear them around disneyland all day etc.

    • +3

If you’re going all day go at least the lows…

      • +2

I wouldn't wear these all day, they are hard and narrow. Better off wearing some proper comfortable shoes (almost anything else).

    • +3

Flat inner with no support. I would use them as casual, fashion sure. Sounds like you’re better off with ASICS or NB.

    • Yes, these shoes are the updated version of the chuck taylor. They have a thicker sole and much more comfortable for all day wear. I cant wear the OG chucks anymore after getting the Chuck 70s.

      • the old ones are hard as hell. The new normal ones are thinner bouncier soles, I don't expect them to last long.
Not sure what the 70s are like exactly as i haven't tried any but probably a good choice.

    THANKS OP!

Been browsing this site for years but just made an account to make my first comment :)

Awfully uncomfortable to the point where I never want to wear them again imo

    • Plus all the teens will mock you, lol… Stop looking in my cart, I can run in these.

      • Why would the teens mock you? They’re also likely wearing Converse.

        • Because in their eyes anyone obviously over the age of 21 wearing ‘their’ fashion just looks weird and must be a try-hard. I get funny glances in my direction when I wear my Dr Martens in public and once heard some young people snigger quietly about the ‘old person trying to look young again’. I don’t care, I wear them because they’re so darn comfortable, and I didn’t have ask my parents to buy them for me.

          • @Chazzozz: To be young again lol. Tell them you got the made in England ones, and that they've been around since before they were born.

Considering selling my two pairs of lows, they aren't like my old ones - lightweight, thinner soles, seem a bit long.
To be fair they are more comfortable, sizing seems more generous. Bouncier out of the box but can imagine them hardening.

      • +1

Chucks are 100 years old so If you care about what teenagers think or say about your fashion choices then thats more a reflection of you than anything else.

    • +1

They need to be broken in for a decent amount of time

  • +2

As a millennial these were really in when I was in high school, but they are super uncomfortable.

Getting old so I prefer comfort over look, especially with kids :(

    • The 70 version (this one) is much more comfortable than the standard. Nike bought converse and some of their newer models show that influence.

      • yeah once i got a lunar-inner sole edition. Was better cushioning but the shoes wasn't bigger to compensate so it was painful for the longest time. Any nike runners would be better!

  • Thanks OP! I run through the soles of the All Stars so quick so hoping these are a bit tougher.

  • Thanks OP couldn't make up my mind so brought hightops and lows

  • +1

Low is almost sold out, think was obviously better deal til right now. High is $39!

  • Didn't need these, but odered a "backup" pair on Saturday night and they arrived lunchtime today.

    Thanks OP.

  • Got two pairs and delivered next day. Thanks!
