JV’s asking for a Spanking , Pulp Fiction style.

Geez what do you want for $10?

      • +7

For about $10 USD you can get a full grain leather belt from AliExpress.

I picked up two from the aptly named "DOOPAI official store" as a package and am quite happy we with the quality of the leather. Comparable to the RM without that silly engraving.

Can't speak to Zara or Uniqlo belts but I assume they'd be fast fashion spec.

        • +1

I’ve basically been dailying my Uniqlo belt for about a year now and it’s still rock solid. I’m honestly surprised it’s still holding up because I expected it to be trashed by now.

    • you do realise they make it for $1 each and rest is margin, how much margin depends on brand name.

    • I actually don't think it's leather… All the edges are sealed like plastic. It might be a reconstituted leather as best

    Full bonded leather?

    • +1

I wanted to ask this same question, and then saw yours.

If it's "bonded", then this OzB title or the sale, could be misleading.

    • +1

Exactly. Full leather doesn't mean anything, you need the grade of leather.

    • All the edges are sealed like plastic. I'm not confident it's leather.

    4 Stam 4 Strength leather belt… level 18…………….. omg

    • +1

Only level 18 with 2 things on it? Trash

    • I've got balls of steel, steel ,steel.

  • +7

Actual leather or that garbage bonded leather that starts to fall apart after a few weeks of use?

    • In Asia, they do that 'cigarette lighter' test with the flame, to show you, it's indeed leather !

      • +1

Even then it's hard to tell TBH.

  • Anyone know where or how I can adjust a belt.

    • As in punch a new hole into it to resize? You can go too any Mr. Minit and they'll do it for you for around $2, or if it's something you're planning on doing often, you can look for a leather hole punch. Bunnings has one.

      • +1

Yes punch a new hole. I have lost some weight and in the past I made a hole with a screwdriver or knife but butchered the belt. Thank you for the link

Last leather Aldi work belt I bought proved to bonded leather and quickly lost chunks of the outer skin.

    No faith in 100% leather.

    Check carefully.

    • +1

Yeah, I bought a couple of their previous work belts not realizing they were bonded leather and they looked like crap within a few months. The incredibly thin brown colour wore off where the buckle slides and in the area where I wear a tool holster.

    • How can you confirm what it is?

  • Just in time. The rope holding up my pants is on it's last legs.

  • +10

Expensive belts are a waist of money

    • +2

I reckon these will last 3 days before they start cracking.

      • +3

        whoosh

        • +1

Possibly. Either that or JDP observed that there are a number of OZBers that can’t spell/grammar proper (!) and just assumed I’m one of them.

    • Only if you can't find any loopholes

  • Reflective strips! I'm sold.

  • What happened to the spectacularly ugly BOSTANTEN belts that used to be posted here every few months?

    • They were banned for falsely advertising leather when it was pure plastic.

      • lol maybe that should happen to this lot as well.

        • At least it's clearly labelled 'synthetic leather' in the header

          • +1

@Exprise: That was updated by the mods after being reported. It was posted as being leather, same as they've done in the past.

  • God I hope they're wide, whoever designed skinny belts has never been beaten by them..

  • Did anyone else notice thatALDI describe the belt as 100% polyester!

    • What’s wrong with the webbing belt being polyester?

  • This belt isnt full grain leather, it would say full grain leather if it were full grain leather.

100% leather just means that it contains 100% leather, no matter what the grade (this is probably made of a low-grade leather such as "genuine leather" or even PU-bonded leather)

  • +1

I have had these a few years ago and the metal receptacle breaks off after six months of daily use, not sure if the quality has improved since
