Been eyeing a new orbi to replace my old mesh system. This probably isn't the cheapest price but it's something.

  • Since when, going online is a luxry activities.:) rating at 1 star in amazon, might be not a good choice, but still thanks for sharing.

    • If you are basing your opinion on votes, did you see that it has a total of only 1 vote of 1 stars on Amazon Australia ?

      In Amazon US, it has 4747 votes with an average stars of 4.3 out of 5

      The question is whether this price is a bargain or not since Scorptec is selling it for not much more at $849 with free delivery

      • i don't mean that, but checking the 1 star review you should know what i mean not a good choice. nothing in regard to the tech itself. but stick to the topic "bargain" is what i suppose to say. however, sharing is a good thing, same as i am sharing my view. also same as you. thanks anyway.

  • Well someone is rich spent $842.45 for a product that has one star rating you are special sir

    Yeah I have the 852, rock solid connection and range but so much stuff behind a paywall that shouldn't be.

    Yes, there will be those that can "justify" $842 for a couple of Wifi boxes, but for the "average" OzBargainer this it is not a bargain and is technically complete overkill, particularly if you have a small home or apartment, simple streaming usage and a 100mbps (or less) NBN service.

    However, each to their own, and if you can justify it (somehow), good luck, but I'd personally buy the TP-Link equivalent.

    I've got an older RBK50 set and even that had paywall stuff. It's been fairly solid, but not hugely customisable and the app is trash (who the hell wants to authenticate over the internet to access your router when you're actually on the LAN it's on). If I was looking to replace it, I'd VERY strongly consider something different than Netgear.

    Well that says I couldn't be bothered researching, just check prices for yourself.

    i-Tech has it for $815 and $15 delivery to Melb -> $830.

  • I have 2 * Mercusys MR47BE (BE9300) with EasyMesh and quite happy, each usually goes for $175 with deals. I use it for WiFi back hauling instead of paying for running Ethernet cables through walls.
