      For skiing you want waterproof ones. Aldi has decent ski gear when it's the special of the week

        Interestingly, for many years I bought the best goretex gloves money could buy and my hands got hot and then wet with perspiration. I swapped to just water resistant fabric gloves that breathe better and now my hands stay warm and dry.

        Note this is only in warm climate snowboarding (NZ and Aus), and I treated the gloves with Nikwax to make them extra water resistant. I also run pretty hot so my main getup is a non-insulated, light water proof shell over a base layer.

    I used the Rough Cut Miner gloves for replacing the control arms on my car's front suspension. They are good, resisted abrasion really well and had good grip because of the material on the palm side. This is my new mechanic's glove!

      Literally says "Cut 5 Protection: Designed to provide optimal protection against cuts and abrasions."

      But if your use case is stopping chainsaws with hands, then they may not be up to the task
