The TP-Link Deco X68 is a powerful mesh Wi-Fi system built to deliver fast and reliable internet coverage across your entire home or office. As part of TP-Link's Deco series, it’s designed to give you seamless, whole-home Wi-Fi with the convenience of a mesh network.

Key Features:
Wi-Fi 6 Technology: The Deco X68 supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard (802.11ax), offering faster speeds, greater capacity, and improved efficiency, especially when multiple devices are connected to your network. It’s perfect for busy households or offices.

Speed and Coverage: You’ll get speeds of up to 3,000 Mbps (574 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 2402 Mbps on the 5 GHz band), making it ideal for heavy tasks like 4K streaming, online gaming, or large file transfers. It covers up to 7,000 square feet, depending on the model and setup, ensuring your whole space is well-connected.

Mesh Technology: With mesh technology, the Deco X68 creates a unified network with a single SSID. This means you won’t need to switch networks as you move around your home. It reduces dead zones and keeps your Wi-Fi connection stable and reliable throughout your space.

Tri-Band Wi-Fi: The system features a dedicated 5 GHz band for backhaul (communication between Deco units), making sure that devices stay connected without slowing down. This setup ensures smooth performance, even if multiple devices are in use at once.

Easy Setup: Setting up your Deco X68 is a breeze with the TP-Link Deco app. You can easily manage your network, monitor connected devices, set up guest networks, and apply parental controls—all from your phone.

Enhanced Security: The Deco X68 includes TP-Link’s HomeCare™ security suite, which offers antivirus protection, quality-of-service features, and parental controls to keep your devices safe from online threats.

Handles Multiple Devices: Thanks to Wi-Fi 6, the Deco X68 handles multiple devices connected to your network without a hiccup. Whether it’s a house full of smart devices, heavy streaming, or video calls, it performs seamlessly.

Ethernet Ports: Each unit has Gigabit Ethernet ports for fast, wired connections to devices like gaming consoles, smart TVs, or PCs. This ensures you have a stable and high-speed connection for all your devices.

The Deco X68 is an excellent choice for households or offices that need reliable, high-speed Wi-Fi across a large area. With its Wi-Fi 6 capabilities, mesh technology, and easy-to-manage features, it’s perfect for modern homes with many devices and heavy internet usage.

  • Does this also replace the traditional router? i.e. I only need my nbn box and this?

    • What is your nbn connection type? This can replace your router if you have HFC or FTTP and FTTC. But if you have FTTN or FTTB you'll need your traditional modem with VDSL2 support + these connected to it.

      • Yeah I’ve got hfc

        • yeah you just use this by themselves + with hfc ntd

        • +1

You'll patch your arris modem direct into the "controller" unit, and ideally hardwire that one direct into the satellites, usually via a switch but if you can patch direct that is better. Friend bought these as did I, but I returned mine early on because I did not like that they are managed via a web app, i.e. you cannot run them entirely in home on your own network.. When their service dies / shutsdown / so goes your ability to manage them. This also filled me with cybersecurity suspicions. Also my mate has been finding that for no reason at all his internet (50mbps) falls to 2-4mbps for no reason, and on rebooting the primary this recovered, so they seem a little flaky…just make sure you update the firmware.
