      I cannot find a policy anywhere that specifically says you cannot use gift cards to purchase a MacBook Air at JB Hi-Fi. With this in mind:

      • If you are shopping in-store, you can redeem multiple TCN Him gift cards in one transaction… as long as the staff member allows this (which they should).1 You cannot redeem any gift cards at the Sydney International Airport store nor Gold Coast Airport store, but I suspect that is not relevant to you…

      • If you are shopping online at jbhifi.com.au, you cannot redeem TCN Him gift cards directly on the website, as the TCN Him gift cards in this deal do not support online transactions. However, TCN has a workaround where you can go to the TCN website and exchange your TCN Him gift card for a digital JB Hi-Fi gift card. You can redeem multiple JB Hi-Fi gift cards on the JB Hi-Fi website.

      • If you are shopping online at another JB Hi-Fi website (e.g. JB Hi-Fi Business, JB Hi-Fi Education), you cannot redeem any JB Hi-Fi gift cards on that website.

      1. My recommendation is:
        - Take the gift cards out of the packaging before you get to the store.
        - Try to go to the store at a quieter time (because redeeming multiple cards can be time-consuming, so you will effectively shut down one checkout for a few minutes).
        - Tell the staff member at the checkout you want to do split payments across multiple cards (or eftpos cards, if they ask for clarification).
        - Tell the staff member the amount to redeem from each card (which should be printed on the back of the card).
        - Redeem the card as per the instructions that should be on the back of the card.
        Do not mention anything about redeeming gift cards, because if a staff member selects the gift card option on a JB Hi-Fi checkout, the checkout will expect you to present a JB Hi-Fi gift card, not a TCN Him gift card. ↩

            Your recommendation sounded like you almost have to hide the fact that you are using multiple GC.
            However, if I exchange to multiple JB cards (I assume you cant combine into 1 JB card)
            I should feel less bad about using them right?

              That was not the intention. The intention was to be clear that you are wanting to use eftpos cards, not gift cards. I once witnessed a customer tell a JB Hi-Fi staff member they wanted to use a gift card, but the customer had a TCN gift card. The staff member chose gift card on the checkout (which is the wrong redemption option), so when the customer tried to redeem the gift card, the EFTPOS terminal kept rejecting the gift card and the customer got cranky at the staff member. The staff member did not know the difference between JB Hi-Fi gift cards and TCN gift cards, so was unable to rectify the situation. That is the reason you should always be clear whether you are using a JB Hi-Fi gift card or a TCN gift card when at JB Hi-Fi.

              However, if I exchange to multiple JB cards (I assume you cant combine into 1 JB card)

              I think that is less ideal, because it may actually take longer to redeem a JB Hi-Fi gift card than a TCN gift card, especially if the staff member is having problems scanning the redemption barcode. My preference if shopping in-store at JB Hi-Fi would be to redeem multiple TCN gift cards.

      Yes they can, I purchased 1 last year. Definitely scratch the pins beforehand to save time. Also claim TRS afterwards if you're going overseas.

      Incorrect.

      • The promotional terms and conditions says nothing about the $30 Him or $100 Him / Pub & Bar gift cards being excluded. If these were excluded, it would explicitly say so in the terms and conditions (which is what happened during this recent deal).

      • I just scanned a $100 Pub & Bar gift card at a Coles self checkout, and the 10% discount was applied.

    It has been awhile since the last promotion involving the generic coles mastercard gift cards, not even the free purchase fee (online) that was pulled out early last month. I think the last few gift card deals have been stores specific GCs.

    They run the coles mastercard or vanilla gift cards promotion quite frequently last year. Anyone has an insider news when they might run that again?
    Have some bills that wont qualify for credit card points, yet im too stingy to pay the 1.5% sniip fees.

      Yes you can. I did yesterday Friday.

      It's just an EFTPOS/digital mastercard so can be used to buy anything that a card can.

          That’s right, I found in the terms and conditions stated that “ Gift Cards and Third Party JB Hi-Fi Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase another JB Hi-Fi branded Gift Card, another third party gift card (e.g. Steam Gift Cards, Xbox Gift Cards, Google Play Cards), JB Hi-Fi Device+ plans or any eligible products which are purchased with a JB Hi-Fi Device+ plan.”.

          A bit risky for getting $2000 worth of TCN gift cards.

            @Future Kids: Where did you find the terms and conditions? To JB hifi there just another digital mastercard or EFTPOS card except prepaid. You should be looking at the tcn gift card terms and conditions.

            Admittedly I only purchased $40 worth of apple gift cards.

              @brisdaz: That quote is from clause 14 of JB Hi-Fi's gift card terms and conditions. (The same terms and conditions defines Third Party JB Hi-Fi Gift Cards as including TCN multi-retailer gift cards, so it applies to TCN Him gift cards too.)

              If you look at the TCN multi-retailer gift card terms and conditions, it includes the following clause:

              8. The Card cannot be used towards the purchase of any other gift cards or vouchers at participating merchants.

    Has anyone had issues converting Pub & Bar to digital? I am able to check my balance online but attempting to register the card gives an error in relation to the card number.
