I have the 47mm, upgraded from the Forerunner 945, and have been very happy with the watch features compared to the 945. The 51mm would be suitable for someone with slightly less girly wrists than I, and certainly a good price.

    • FYI non-sapphire 47mm for $899 via same seller.

  • This or the Huawei GT 5 pro? I am a long time Garmin user using Venu 2 at the moment

    • The Epix is so much better than the Venu.

I'm a longtime Garmin user and was happy to see the back of my Venu.

    • 100% epix. they have much better features and it would make sense if youre upgrading from the venu 2

I bought venu 3 and returned it after looking for 15 mins.

The Epix 2 Sapphire is a tank, i've bashed it on construction sites, my son has smashed his stainless steel bottle on it multiple times, not a scratch. 16ish days of battery per charge with 2-3 runs a week.

A torch on your watch (MUCH more handy than you think - with red light, and 3 levels of white light)

      • The torch is a lifechanger.

        • 100% much more useful than i first imagined.

if you have a baby, trust me you will get so much use from it in a month, it will almost be the best feature.

  • Provided you like the size of this watch it's probably the best bang for buck sports watch at the moment.
Battery life is outstanding and it charges very quickly.
The LED torch is the feature you never knew you had to have.
I've downloaded the Fenix 8 watchface by Green Black from GC onto mine and the customization is brilliant.

  • I’m tempted by this, but I waited so long I figure I might as well wait for the Fenix 8 to go on sale.

    • They are reasonably discounted on the JB corp store, though they don't stock the Enduro 3 which is what I've been chasing. So if you spot a deal on an enduro hit me up 😂

      • enduro 2 at bikeinn for $920.

The latest software updated brought the ECG App to Aussie Epix 2 Pro.

  • I have the Fenix 5 - still love it, even though no onboard audio, garmin pay, software updates, and getting old… will I be disappointed by anything by going from Fenix 5 to Epix Pro Gen 2…?

    • +1

I’ve got a Fenix 5 plus, so pretty similar situation. I recommend you check dc rainmaker (website or youtube). He does good reviews. I doubt you could be disappointed by anything other than garmin’s stingy approach to software updates. I really thought about getting this one, but it is getting a bit old. Based on price cuts to the Fenix 7, I’m guessing we should see discounts on the 8 maybe June, definitely around Black Friday. Depends how much longer you want to wait before upgrading. If you check the reviews on YouTube, and are happy with the features of the watch as-is, then it’s a great watch.

  • The 47mm is $899 as well, how much does the sapphire make a difference in real life - also coming from a lower end forerunner.

  • Wondering how long you experts think this will be on sale for? I'm away for a day or two, and want to be home when it is delivered. Hoping it will still be on sale tomorrow so I can order for delivery thurs/fri

  • Same price at JB at the moment which brings is down a further 10% with the discounted GCs from Coles.

Super tempted but I've only just signed up for a half mara and don't know if $1k makes sense for just running.
