        That is the way.

Yep holding out for Epic to come through on this one.

Saw that it's already 50% off on Steam and with a lot of mixed / negative reviews, so might be sooner rather than later.

The gameplay and combat is great but the writing is really mediocre, it feels very much like Mass Effect Andromeda to me where they went 2 steps forward with the combat but 3 steps backwards with the characters, story and writing.

          • @sleepyowl: They couldn't have made that femshep from Mass Effect Andromeda more goofy looking if they tried, then in all the dramatic cutscenes where someone tells her something deeply personal it cuts to her face and she's just got some silly grin on her face. I think they later patched some of the scenes to give her a better facial expression but how that made it through testing at all is wild.

It was a massive flop so perhaps most people do give a shit about poor writing and characters in a fantasy setting saying things like "so I'm non binary" at the dinner table.

And then having other characters do pushups as punishment for not using the correct pronouns. In a fantasy setting.

It's not anti woke agenda. It's anti shit writing.

@DingoBilly: It's anti crap not anti woke. When game Devs finally realise that we'll end up with good games again. Ubisoft are about to work it out finally.

            • @DingoBilly: Mate, what the majority of us (95% of the planet) are trying to tell you is we don't give a SH about your sects agenda ❤️

@Subere: I'm anti anti-everything, so this shit sits good with me.

It was free on PS+ and still nobody downloaded it goes to show the modern audience don't support the game even when it's free.

      • It was given away as a monthly PS+ title already on Playstation, could be possible for Epic to get it.

You better pull a barv for saying that

The person in charge of this game is doing the next mass effect game, can't wait.

    • +3

No theyre not (thank god). They left the business. Its casey hudson again now. At least check what youre saying before pressing post.

Calm down, yes you're correct i assume they left 'cause of poor sales of dragonage: veilguard thank God.

I thought this dragon age was the biggest flop in history. So sad for a game with such potential and great origins story.

Concord was a much bigger flop

      https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2024/09/21/new-report…

Concord is the biggest budget game Sony has ever released, the biggest loss they’ve ever taken. There are other games being worked on at Sony that cost more than this, but in terms of what’s already out, this is the largest. It’s a total loss.

      • Dragon Age, Concord, Dustborn, AC Shadows.
One day these "big" publishers will learn and remember who their audience is and how they got so big in the first place.

        • -3

The big studios should just stick it to the entitled fanbase and only make reskinned games like Just dance and NBA 2k.

What, you think China is going to come and fill this void with Wukong, Wulong, Wufong and Wuzong watevers? Wait till they hook you in then monetise everything. So instead of supporting western democracy you will end up supporting socialists with their wicked view of capitalism.

    • EA should of made battlefield 2042 a flop and removed the servers.

I played a few matches last week, they've kinda admitted defeat by enabling you to earn exp & progression from playing bot matches now.

The gameplay feels a lot better than it did at launch but making the game 128 player was their biggest mistake, they made all the flag capture points way too big and all the maps are far too open.

The level design is definitely not a strong point. At least they have that Battlefield Portal mode where you can replay the popular maps from older titles.

Even ignoring the anti-woke agenda Veilguard was a massive disappointment for both consumers and investors.

in fairness it wasnt an agenda the writting was 'woke' but the writting was 'also very poor'

The last of US 2 was woke and there probably were people who had an agenda against it but it did fairly well because it wasnt written like total shit

pure $ metrics Concord was worse

but considering VG has an established fan base and large following this probably killed the franchies resulting in loss of future earnings from future titles in the series

Mass effect andromeda is a good example of this - Mass effect as a brand was put on the back burners for years due to how bad that game was (in fairness the combate was good but the writing and characters were TERRIBLE) Dragon Age VG might of killed Dragon Age (or at least we wont see a Dragon age game for decades till the dust settles) which is far more damaging then just the $ loss you read on paper

A good game! Fun for the most part. But the marketing was terrible and the hate too.

    • +2

It's being given away on PS+ which has gotta be some sort of record between release date and giveaway of a AAA game right?

  • Is this the pozzed one?
