Expedia Cashback via TopCashback AU Tracked as $0 and Missing Cashback Claim Is Useless

All my Expedia transactions have been tracked as zero cashback, and missing cashback claim is useless. All the missing cashback claims have been stuck in “Waiting for TopCashback” status forever.
Any suggestions on what I can do? Thanks in advance.

Edit:
Yes, I only book flights on Expedia from TopCashback, because other cashback sites had higher cashback rates when I booked for accommodation. Those were all my Expedia bookings from TopCashback, and they were all eligible for cashback when I booked. Please find the screenshot evidence below.

Evidence of flight bookings were eligible for cashback when I booked.

Update:
The store rep has sorted out the problem for me today. It was a fast turnaround after posting on Ozbargain. The store rep here was really responsive. Thumbs up for @tightarse.
I know the cashback amount was small, but it could indicate an issue in the system, and it’s better to make them aware of, so they can fix it for everyone.

Hi. Found your four bookings off the dates you provided in the screenshot. What you neglected to mention is they were all flights (and therefore ineligible):

    https://www.topcashback.com.au/expedia/

Cashback is ineligible on flights, rail, cruises, travel insurance, taxes, fees.

Best way to contact us for any issues or updates is via this link for a response within 48 hours.

If you have further concerns, feel free to reach out to me directly. Please proceed to close the claims too. Cheers.

I have just replied the store rep. Flight bookings were eligible for cashback when I booked, and I have a screenshot to prove that.

Hi @tightarse. Thanks for replying on Saturday. They were eligible for cashback at the time when I booked, which I have a screenshot to prove. Please find the screenshot below. Luckily I have a good habit of taking screenshots when dealing with any cashback sites including TopCashback.

Screenshot says you get a meagre two bucks back.

Yes, but it’s shocking that they didn’t honour the cashback even those were as little as $2 each, isn’t it?

Hi @We. Thanks for that. I've just checked the Expedia affiliate contract and from what I can tell, flights have never been eligible (ie. they've never paid us commission which is why they’re showing $0 for you). I can only assume the flights tier was there in error and a possible oversight by whoever set up the merchant at the time.

Having said that, I can't argue with a screenshot and I apologise for your experience on behalf of TCB. I've just approved the four bookings at $2 cashback each in your TopCashback account. Hope this closes the matter out, and thanks again for flagging. Have a wonderful night ahead. Cheers.

Hi @tightarse. Thanks for the really on Saturday. The screenshots were real, and other people has posted the Web Archive link that also proves the same.

I'm convinced 99%* of cashback errors are user error either due to not reading the conditions or using ad blockers/VPN etc.

*I may have made that up but it's definitely in the high 90s. FFS.

    • Not for my case. I always read T&C and never use VPN or AD blocker when I visit any cashback sites. And I also have a good habit of taking screenshots and keeping all email evidences. For this instance, the store rep said flights were not eligible, but I took a screenshot when I booked, which proved otherwise.

        All this over $8?

Yes, but it’s shocking that they didn’t honour the cashback even those were as little as $2 each.

Don't forget to mark yourself as associated with one of the cashback mobs…

No chance at all it's high 90s.

Don't forget the Wayback Machine . Closest date I could find to your booked flights.

  • I've used TopCashback once so far, and I’m not impressed. Even though my cashback has been confirmed, the payout deadline has already passed, and they still can't tell me when I'll receive my money. They only pay out once the merchant pays them—so if the merchant never pays, does that mean I'll be waiting forever? Since I made my purchase specifically because of the cashback offer, I believe it's the site's responsibility to ensure timely payments. It’s been 4 months since my cashback was tracked, and I’m still waiting.

    • Hi. Can you please advise which retailer you're referring to? Also please note there's no hard 'deadline' date. The approval date is an 'estimate' only which can vary based on a number of factors. Thanks.
