I've been thinking about buying one of these rollers for some time. Today Amazon has this one as a "Deal of the Day". A lot of positive reviews convinced me to lift the embargo on spending.

I just read all the reviews and I still don't know what the he'll it does. Is this a massage aid or a paint roller?

Unique Distrodensity Zone design allows for targeted massage
Designed to withstand constant, heavy, and repeated use without breaking down

    ^^^Marital Aid^^^

It really depends on your own flexibility, normal rollers are good if you're really stiff, or for parts of the body like calves which don't need as much pressure. But if you're doing your gluteus, hip flexors, upper back you normally want something a lot harder.

dont they have these things at clark rubber? for like the same price?

This is a great looking product. Use the traditional foam roller all the time so this will be interesting! Thanks OP.

God I have spent some much money on OzB lately… A new guitar, Transformer, work out gear, iTunes vouchers… God knows what else, it's all a blur.

Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 LTE from Unique Mobiles.

  • Note that there is more than one size of roller in the Gold Box deal (for different prices of course).

    • Edit: The Gold Box deal is displayed on the larger roller page but it links to the small roller page so the 13 inch is really the only roller in that deal.

  • Just purchased one, had been put off buying one of these for quite sometime due to the expensive cost of the item from elsewhere. Thanks OP!

  • Trigger Point may look expensive at first, but generally are very well made and just perform that so much better. Use their balls and rollers and they are better then clark rubber stuff or DIY things.

  • my diy roller is a pvc tube. even the stiffest rubber is not hard enough

        ouch

  • Really should get a 90cm one, your limited by some of the stuff you can do, especially if you want to do things like align spine and then stretch shoulders on either side, use to roll out both quads/hamstrings at the same time etc.

For anyone whose wondering how people use this:

This will be good for the most common use of this though, to avoid ITBS: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iliotibial_band_syndrome

    by doing this:

    • would 66cm be wide enough?

      • Yeah 66cm would be fine for rolling out hamstrings & quads yes. Maybe ok for shoulder stretches if your not too tall. I really feel its better than a massage sometimes, especially the release it gives to the tired muscles as well as helping rto loosen up the itb.

        • thanks, look fwd to trying this out.

  • Arrived yesterday, despite the estimated delivery being on the 26th Jan.

Used it for about 25mins and found it to be very effective. Comes with some instructions on how to massage different parts of the body.

    Highly recommend
