Mattress Topper - Recommendations?

I've moved into an apartment I'm renting in Melbourne's CBD and the mattress is awful.

I've got a mattress topper that I previously used, and was purchased from Kmart. I've got it on this current awful mattress and it definitely makes it better, but doesn't really do the job well enough. It's still not really too comfy.

I believe this is the one I'm currently using:

I see that Kmart has this one too, I wonder if it's worth trying:

I figured I should consider a topper that is higher quality/thicker etc, does anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you

Update: found this one https://www.harrisscarfe.com.au/home/bedding/mattress-topper… which seems good?

    lol Kmart

  • Latex.

  • It depends, is the mattress uncomfortable because it's too firm? because if thats the case, a quality latex topper will do wonders for you. I'd get a medium feel 5cm, or 7.5cm for extra plush

    • Yeah, it is too firm. Thank you, I will check it out and hope to find a reasonably priced one I can buy in the city.

      • I had this issue with firmness and bought a 10cm memory foam topper. Best purchase ever. The softness of memory foam while the existing mattress provides a base layer of firmness. Perfect combination. It's been a while, don't remember where I bought it. Amazon?

    • Any reasonably-priced ones you can recommend? Around $200 or less would be ideal, and a store where I can pick it up in the CBD

  • Tontine sre good thickness, still machine washable and regularly 50%+ off.

However the king of all toppers is this one

    • I don’t machine wash my to tontine topper anymore after the first one went lumpy. I wash mine in the bath and put it out on the balcony to dry. I pick a really hot day to do it.

Have you ever been plagued with too much money? Well then I have the topper for you, https://www.myer.com.au/p/minijumbuk-slep-therapy-wol-mattre… .

But seriously I have one, it is awesome though.

    • So you're plagued by too much money? Allow me to assist you with that problem.

I am self medicating for that problem. Whenever I get paid and the problem flairs up I take 15min of Ozbargain and the problem quickly sorts itself out. Very effective.

Not sure where you live but Tontine have an outlet store in Campbellfield in Melbourne

    • Thanks. Apparently latex or memory foam will be good to prevent the feeling of the springs.

      • Maybe think about replacing the mattress. The op shop near us often has new mattresses for sale. Might be worth checking out. Then you can ask the landlord to remove the old mattress.
