See if you have a family or friend working for resmed, they can get this at cost price through staff discount. I was able to get one through family for about $860 for the 10 and a mask.

  • Same price at other stores too, although this one adds in 50% off a battery as well.

A shame it's not 50% the larger battery, looks like just the mini one (which won't get you through the night with this machine + humidifier on).

  • any one know the difference between 4G and non 4G model?

    • +3

4G devices have a mobile chip in them and upload your usage information (including sleep events etc) to ResMed servers, and to your CPAP provider. This also allows you to use the MyAir app.

Non-4G devices are what they call card-to-cloud i.e. your usage info is recorded on a SD card which needs to be manually uploaded for your provider and sleep specialist.

Other than that they function exactly the same.

      • Thanks for the explaination.

  • This is a good price but has been cheaper. The same bundle at thecpapclinic.com.au was $1185 in November last year.

Mine is collecting dust. For some people, the use of the machine disrupts your sleep worse than the apnea whilst you're getting used to it. After a month of feeling like a zombie I just couldn't continue. I'm yolo'ing it and running the risk. At least I can function and have energy.

What was going wrong with it? I tried three machines and around six masks before I found a combination which works.

I guess that's why they recommend you should hire one first and you can try different masks that way.

Personally I bought my Airsense 10 straight up and they loaned me a mask for free to trial. For me the worst sleep I had was with the test equipment hooked up for the study. I had a great sleep on the CPAP from the very first night, although did change the type of nasal pillow part of the mask that I was using (I had the under the nose slit first but found the nasal prongs sealed better when I slept on my side).

It would be well worth trialling different masks and possibly machines to get something that works for you.

    • Interested in selling it?

    • It's life changing for me.

Firstly, I bought the AutoCPAP which automatically adjust the pressure.

The first 3 weeks was like you, I ended up waking up feeling really tired.

I monitor my sleep with my watch before and after. Before I was only getting between 45 - 60% sleep quality. After 3 weeks, and now I am on 6 months, my sleep quality had improved to as much as 96%.

The key is to understand how the CPAP works. Despite it is autoCPAP, we still need to adjust the min - max threshold of the pressure. I have the portable travel unit. By default, it has a min of 5 and max pressure range of 22. I had to adjust that to 16 and that worked well for about 3 months. Now my max pressure is around 12.

Everyone is different so you need to find your sweet spot. Even with my sweet spot, I have difficulty breathing when I have my sinusitis, felt the pressure was so imense that I have to take off the full mask.

Does CPAP work? Yes once we finds the right settings.

I bought one for a family member for $1,045 about 16 months ago from the same store.

    • Did you buy just the machine or the whole package like in this deal?

      • Package, including choice of mask.

        • That was a good price indeed!

  • Bought it 4 months ago, everything included as above from resmed for $1140. These deals come and go, so you can price match or price beat with other websites.

Is there somewhere I can keep an eye on CPAP machine price? I need a new one but don't see them often on ozbargain.

  • I recall looking at prices 5 years ago and these packages were at least $1,500. Glad to prices coming down

  • My 2.5 year old 3G version was replaced with the 4G version for free through Resmed—worth checking if you're eligible!

I got a bit of resistance but then quoted consumer law etc (as the My Air app no longer worked with the 3G model) and they quickly relented.

  • Anyone tried an aliexpress cpap before?

    • +1

Resmed seem to be about the only brand without some safety scandal involving a recall. Would you entrust your ability to breathe to some AliExpress fly-by-night device?

Even Philips can't get their CPAP machines right!

  • I am at trail at the moment which ends this weekend and have decided to buy the machine. Not sure if it really made a difference but didn't both me as well, so will try for a few months and hopefully it helps how I feel.

However the trail was on Airsense 11 which I am quoted around $1750 with mask without any follow ups, or 1900 with one a year consultation and easy swap replacements if any issues under warranty.

Do you know if air sense 11 is better than 10? Anyway to get a better price on the air sense 11?

    Thank you

    • When I was doing my homework, every bit of advice I found suggested that 10 is a better machine than 11. Or at least, people who tried both preferred the 10.

      • Whilst I haven't used an 11 I alternate between a 9 and 10 through the week. Personally I can't tell the difference between machines however switching to an F30i mask was a godsend

    • I did my trials in January with an airsense 11 , but ended up buying an airsense 10 just because of the price.
Airsense 11 has touch screen while the 10 uses a knob and press kind of thing. Other than that they pretty much do the same thing as far as I can tell.

      • Seems like a tactile user interface with physical buttons would be a better choice if you need to operate the controls in the middle of the night and can't put your reading glasses on.

        • I don't wear glasses but i imagine the struggle would still be the same given the smaller screen on the airsense10.
Plus you're navigating with a rotating knob which isn't the best either. I don't mind it but now that you've said it, i cant judge which is better for people with poor eyesight

    • A consultant on CPAP machines told me last year that the Airsense 10 is a better machine.

  • Seriously considering pulling the trigger on this model. It has great reviews. My only concern is if I should go the Series 11 instead to future proof for a little longer.

    • I still using a 9 at the gf's and carting a 9 around on hols. A 10 will be more than fine if it's a bargain.

CPAP is such a rort - I’ve been lucky and purchased a couple of low useage as10 auto machines from fbmp for around 350~500. I feel this should be price for a new machine - a bit link an inkjet printer - you’ll spend more on masks for the life of the machine.

    • I was given one by Brisbane rbh sleep lab for free but I had to buy my own mask. Seems the qldGov buy these in bulk and supply them through the health system after a sleep test and doctor referal to the rbh-sleep lab specialists

OR $1 up front, $36 a fortnight over 36 months with plan, @thecpapclinic.com.au/products/basic-s10-auto-freedom-plan

      OR refirb/cheap outright from @cpapdiscount.au/collections/cpap-machines?&sort_by=price-ascending

Also the machines are ALL much of a muchness, its the MASK you need to trail and find out what's good for you!

      • Was $100 for mine in NSW.
