Ace Attorney is worth every dollar

Currently playing it on my DSi XL, and it's really really good.
Never thought I would enjoy a visual novel so much.

      • Sacred Symbols listener? I've been thinking about firing up my old 3ds to play it.

It's not a game style that works for everyone. I hear so much rave about particular visual novel style games but I just can't get into them

I can't believe I forced my way through two dangan ronpas trying to give the genre a chance. It was the worst.

Time to buy a lot of games I'll never play!!

I've finally convinced myself not to do this and to try and finish all the games in my pile of shame..

      • +3

I would need 2 lifetimes yo accomplish this.

Absolutely disgusting pricing for AA1-3 and AA Chronicles. Probably the best I've seen. You can't really call yourself 'into video games' if you haven't played Trilogy.

I picked them all up recently (aside from Investigations, I'll get around to them at some point) and am slowly playing back through them and I'm honestly a bit bummed about how much more it cost me, but I 100% agree - this pricing makes them an absolute steal and someone on the fence would be crazy to not pick them up.

I've enjoyed basically every Ace Attorney game I've played but there's something really special about the way the original trilogy builds to its conclusion. If you pay attention during the first two games (and can push through the low points in each), Trials and Tribulations is equal parts emotional, thrilling and completely wacky, and it makes for an absolute treat of a game in my opinion.

An aside for those it may be relevant to: they work an absolute treat on the Steam Deck (and I'm sure other similar handheld PCs)!

Do get around to Investigations. Pt2 might be the best standalone game of the whole series, but you need to play Pt1 for Pt2 to resonate, and unfortunately Pt1 is not very good. The last case is a real slog.

        • I played Investigations 1 on my DS back in the day, so Investigations 2 is definitely on the cards in the future!

  • omg worth it!!

Visual novels have never really been my thing, but heard the Ace Attorney games were good.

Just picked up RE2 and DMCV, heard the achievements were brutal for V. Time to lock in!

    Thanks OP.

    got
    Resident Evil 2
    Resident Evil 3
    RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite - Digital Deluxe

10 bucks each thats a pretty sweet deal :D

    • re2 and 3 remakes are mint gaming, as good as re4

      • is it still as hard as the originals though? I remember you used to have limited resources and to unlock new things you have to keep playing the game over and over again, and it got harder every time.

        • its limited but enough , its not an action game where you have 10 x the ammo you need but if your strategic you make it do, part of horror games is worrying about ammo :)

          • @botchie: that was why the original RE games were so good. 7 and 8 ruined that it was so easy in comparison.
