Myer Daily Deals: $5 DVDs, Blu-Ray and CDs (in-Store Only)

470

Found this at Myer Toowoomba and wouldn't be surprised if it is all Myer stores. Common knowledge that they are phasing out DVDs and CDs.

Only exclusions were box sets (large) and the Myer Christmas CD.

Season DVDs like House, Seinfeld, Glee etc. are all still classed as $5.

  • anyone know if this is available at other myer stores?

    • Someone else just posted this deal but with the Macquarie NSW store so I'd say yes.

  • +1

Do you have latest Blu-Ray titles?

    • +2

Sorry mate they had stacks of tables worth of stock.

They had plenty of the 'crowd' favorites like Twilight, Harry Potter's etc. I picked up films like The Kings Speech, Spy Kids, Toy Story, Night of the Museum 1&2, Ratatouille, Fantasia, Glee, Christmas Carol, Charlie and the Choc Factory, Wall Street, Fantastic Four 1&2, Percy Jackson, Seinfeld and Grand Designs.

Too many to mention sorry but they had more blu-ray than DVDs to be honest. CD's were not very popular.

        Thanks, I mean "Do they".

    Thanks for posting dude.

Macquarie NSW had about 300-400 blurays all up about an hour ago. Some really good stuff!

    here's my loot today.

    • Pretty good deals. I saw people get stacks of stuff. I had a voucher to spend, so I got a few things but nothing extremely exciting.

I estimate the Toowoomba store to have 5 tables of DVDs/blu-ray and 4 racks of CD's.

      • awesome get!

i already owned soo many of the disney/pixar movies i wanted, kicking myself its soo cheap today!

      • oop's now everyone knows you have a Glee perversion.

        • …and that's worse than being David Hasslehoff?

  • +2

Chermside has about 5 blurays and nothing special so no luck here

    • Thanks for saving me the trip

  • Anyone in Vic see the same deals?

    • +1

Melbourne CBD store has it but don't bother if you're only after bluray titles, unless you are into twilight.

      • After DVDs, I'm going on Monday. Is there much stock?

        • A fair bit, but no title that stands out IMHO

    • Picked up a few in Northland. Probably best grab was Captain America. Nothing that new, see above posts for an idea.

    • Was at Northland this arvo too, quite a few people lined up with maybe 10 cd's/blus each…

Wish I'd checked ozbargain beforehand as I would've snapped up those TV/season dvd's if I'd known they would scan at $5 too.

Anyway, I did pick up a few new-ish cd's (christina perri, florence+the machine, etc). Nothing spectacular, but it beats JB's last deal where I got some cd's for about $7 each.

  • For an extra 5 dollars (10 dollars) I bought a copy of beneath hill 60. well worth it for that price - great aussie movie. I don't really hold much hope for any decent blu-rays for 5 dollars but if you're a fan of lock up (stallone) i saw in myers for 5 dollars (blu-ray)

  • Anyone been to Eastgardens? Debating whether to spend 20 minutes finding parking to go have a look

    • Any luck at Eastgardens?

  • Any sales at any Sydney Myer stores? :o

  • Picked up Edward Scissorhands and Juno on Bluray @ Myer Carousel, Perth. Gutted that Black Swan was there for $3 cheaper than I recently picked up from JBs!

  • +1

Slim pickings left at Wollongong. I got most of the good stuff :)

    • lol at the neg. I only got 16 dvds/blurays/boxsets :)

    • Guess l don't feel bad about missing out on this one then!

  • +2

Alot of staff were holding stock for themselves behind the counter (who wouldn't) and there were alot of those eBay mums lurking around.

  • $0 online in a few minutes.

  • +2

Not much worth buying at Myer Adelaide.

    • Thanks, I will try TTP tomorrow.

      • +1

I wish you luck, but it said Saturday only (one day only)

    • And also don't bother to go to Myer Elizabeth

  • i got there this morning….. hunger games blu ray double play, Super 8 blu ray Triple play and 127 hours blu ray triple play, entourage season 6 bluray and season 7, weeds season 4 and 5 as well as house seasons 1 and 2 and transformers 3 blu ray triple play for $50

Happy because over the next few days its gonna be too hot to go out :)

  • Just get jb to price match them, they have those titles as well.

    • let us know how you go…

  • Perth City had heaps, spent $30 ;0)

  • +1

I was able to get Packed to the rafters season 1-3
    and 30 rock season 1,2,4 unfortunate I couldn't find 3

$30 on 6 seasons not too bad at all :P

  • Picked up a pile of blu-ray at macquarie. Tv series were $5 each season. Managed to pickup the first 4 seasons of Bones on DVD. There were also some Bond blu-ray as well.

Picked up on Bluray: 127 Hours (Triple Play), Kung Fu Panda 2 (triple play), Marmaduke (triple play), Master and Commander, Rainman, The American & The Smurfs.

The most expensive title in my purchases was Kung Fu Panda 2 (TP) with a retail price of $54.95. No wonder they are having a sale to clear stock, with retail prices like that.

  • Nothing at Myer Hornsby today, but a lot of CDs for $4.95

  • Forget Myer Bankstown - they don't even sell DVD's / Blu-Ray / CD's.

    • I was there at 2:40 and only about 30 discs for sale

  • Myers Canberra Centre picked clean. Belconnen still had some blurays left

  • Got Season 4 of 30 Rock for $5. Awesome!

  • Same here at Pacific Fair on the GC. Plenty of choice and popular/recent albums.

  • Any good bluray at Sydney centre?

  • Anything in sydney city?

  • Anyone think this sale will pop up again with left over stock? I wanna try the Sydney city store, only tried Roselands

  • Anybody thinking about going tomorrow, don't bother. The deal says one day only ends close of trade today. Chances are whatever is left over will be back to there ridiculously high prices.

  • I picked up 9 blu rays in total at the Hurstville store. Only notable items I saw were Captain America, X Men First Class, Wolverine, 127 Hours, Super 8, a couple of Bond movies, a few Harry Potters, Twilight, Kung Fu Panda 2, Rainman, Master and Commander, Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, etc etc…still heaps of DVDs left but not much in terms of cds

  • Man this is the third time I've heard that they're clearing all stock and twice I've been to my local(Morley) and there was nothing on clearance so this time I didn't bother going this morning instead popped in this arvo and whadya know this time its true and there's barely anything left :( I was there last week and there was oodles of stock really wish I'd gone this morning now. Anyhow up a few cds for my mum and one blu and one season of Leverage nothing else left of interest.

  • How about if we did lay bai? Should be ok maybe one of the staff tomoro could give them for $5 if u mentioned about it?

  • Missed out :( I was planning on buying some Blurays, and $5 is very cheap for Blueray, too bad I missed out. Wonder if there were any 3D ones available… Just shows you need to check Ozbargain hourly in order not to miss out.

  • Got some two weeks ago in Miranda. Got 8 Blurays that I didn't already have. I must have 120 or so now…

  • Picked up Garfield on Blu ray, some random Blu ray with Michael c hall, a ric flair DVD and series 1 of the Cleveland show at Myer Melbourne, thanks for posting OP. Very tempted with man vs wild DVDs but I don't want them on dvd

  • Has this sale defently finished or is it still on today being Sunday?

    • I think it is finished, because it said Saturday only

      • +1

Yer I saw that jut wondering if it may still be on

        • Finished but if it was still on there would probably be nothing good left anyway. As all the good stuff has already been purchased.

  • One wonders what Myer's cost price for these was.

    • after 2 dvd's that i grabbed were entered into the register and the markdown applied, it was $64.95, cant say what the cost price was, but no longer stocking dvd/blu rays would of been a co$tly write off

      • +1

Costly that they ever entered that market. Only morons would pay $64.95 for a DVD (or even $32.50 if you mean for the two of them).
