LG 55" OLED B4 4K UHD Smart TV (2024) $1488 (Was $1955) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ In-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

290

Not an all-time low, but still a solid price for a 2024 OLED model — especially under the $1500 mark. Great option if you're after the deep blacks and vibrant colors OLEDs are known for, without splurging on the higher-end models. Good value considering it's a brand new release.

I'm so tempted to get one of these oleds

      yeah it's a great TV

    • +2

That would be a nice bedroom TV

    • yeah I have one. good for the money if you value the blacks. doesn't have the brightness of the C4 or G4 or a Samsung, depends on your budget.

      • I don't need brightness but worried about image processing stuff. Mainly watching sports and getting motion artifacts, that's the one thing I can't stand.

        • nah motion is good. really good for sport. maybe slightly letdown by peak brightness

Seems good, I think OP should amend the post to include the 65. Don't see much about the B4s, would really like to know exactly the difference between B4 and C4… Guess I'll jump on Youtube look at some reviews.

So the last 3 LG OLED's I've purchased have all developed dead pixels with 2 years. Apart from that. Great TV's. Oh and they constantly find new ways to invade your privacy in every update which is quite regularly (already @ 2 this year) and you have to agree or they lock you out of all the smart/ internet based features

I just don’t connect it to the internet.
It’s better to have an external box do it anyway.

    • They sound great indeed.

      • I mean, the privacy invasion is not all that different from other brands, and OLED's in general are more susceptible to dead pixels and image burn-in.

I find the user interface is so much better than Samsung's (2023, I don't know anything have changed since)

Best panels in the industry for gaming, among other things.

    • My B8 has a heap of dead pixels too. Don’t notice during viewing. But look up close and yeah there are a lot particularly at the corners of the screen.

Got a c9 back in 2019 for this price, and it's still 99% good. Controller died on me though a year ago. And Amazon sometimes asks to spy on me.

Just really good value and still makes me "wow" in a dark scene with lots of detail.

One of my top ten purchases ever. Cheap TV's are like the best thing in this decade.

One thing I'll add though - I have the Yamaha soundbar that pops up here every so often. A soundbar without a subwoofer is only marginally better than the TV speakers. Side by side you can tell, but sometimes I forget to plug the soundbar in and it takes a long time to notice. Skip the sound bar.

Yeah just buy good passive bookshelf speakers and an amp. They will last you 40 years. Amp won't, though.

  • I'm hearing that new LG TVs show ads on their screensaver.

    • This stuff makes me sick, hopefully there's enoguh backlash

  • I pretty rarely watch tv and only have a Switch console so had no need for a new TV. My old Samsung 55" 1080p 60Hz that had 3D as a selling point is getting replaced. The Switch 2 with its up to 4K, HDR and 120fps has convinced me to upgrade. Thanks OP.

  • Holy cow, to make $507 discount? And now the price is exactly 1488?!

  • Thank you everyone here for the feedback. I've bought this T.V and a separate streaming device to mitigate the advertisements and such.
