WOW! $144.34 for 4.5 Kg is not a bad deal. Turns out to be $31 per Kg.
    Anyone vouch for the quality/performance?

  • Does it taste gpod though?

4.5kg is alot to go through if it tastes bad.

    • R1 flavours are generally great. I've not had choc fudge but I would say it'll probably on par or better than Amino Z(I think Amino Z is not as good personally for flavour)

    • Me and the missus have had the choc fudge back in our gym days and quite liked it.

I ordered a 10lb bag back in 2023 for $156.33 in the Chocolate Fudge flavour. I remember enjoying the flavour a lot more than the AminoZ (Chocolate Coconut, Aussie Choc Malt, Coffs Harbour Choc Banana, Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream, Neapolitan Ice Cream) I had tried before it. All mixed in just water.

I still think aminoz is a better and cheaper deal ,provided you pick it up in offer. Its vanilla and melon flavours have approx 86% protein as compared to this brand with <75%

    • Apparently Aminoz isn’t doing those deals anymore so gonna give this a shot. Ends up being over 50 dollars a kilo with aminoz.

      • If they aren't doing those deals anymore I'm not sure if they'll survive. I know all my friends buy from AminoZ exclusively each deal cycle, and it gets them a lot of traction.

  • What do people mix this with. I used to have them in smoothies.

    (Compleete newbie)

And do you think still benefical to take if not exercing /working out?

    (Overweight 40year old male)

    • It would only be beneficial if you're using it to replace a meal but food is always best if you can keep the right amount of calories and protein.

Calorie deficit means you lose weight, calorie surplus means you put on weight.
At its core it's that basic.

      • Thanks mate, so you reckon mainly the occasional meal replacement?

For those who find digesting whey concentrate an issue… it's a blend, but it doesn't tell you the ratio of WPC to WPI, so assume It's predominantly a Whey "concentrate"

    • I think most of the brands do not mention the ratio of WPC/WPI

      • Of course not, considering it is likely because the bulk (probably 90%) is the cheaper whey, hence why I only go for WPI, and ultimately, who really knows what we are getting with these protein powders.

  • +1

That's expensive for mostly a WPC

    • lets presume its 100% WPC .. where can you get it less than $31 per kg currently?

  • +1

Would be much better if it was isolate, but this might have to do in the meantime

Seems like same price isn’t coming up anymore?

    • It is $239.9 now

  • A note on taste for posterity:

I bought this because of this sale - it’s very sweet. I’d say the taste is pretty similar to INC Dynamic Whey Chocolate. I ended up adding two teaspoons of cocoa powder and mixing it with 300 ml of water to balance it out.

Overall I prefer Amino Z Choc Malt, but I also add 1-2 teaspoons of cocoa to that to increase the chocolate flavour, and only use 200ml of water.
