I changed to a new phone recently and transfered my apps. For some reason I ended up with "ozbargain plus" installed and it's total garbage. Reading through the reviews a lot of people are having issues with not being able to read text in the text box (white on grey) and various other annoyances.
Does ozbargain have anything to do with this app or is it some third party who (appears to have) stopped development?
Who needs an app when the mobile site works fine.

That wasn't a question haha. If I had push notifications on phone battery would die from the endless notifications.
Have you remembered to renew your Platinum Membership? Once you've updated that in the app, everything just pops.
Ozbargain currently does not have any mobile apps that are being maintained (or even in active development). The Official app has already been de-listed by Google since it hasn't been updated for many years. The app still exists on Apple App store but it will probably have a lot of usability issues and won't work when Cloudflare Under attack mode is turned on (we get a lot of DDOS attempts recently).
Any app that you come across on the Google Play store will be third party.
For Push Notifications, we currently rely on a Telegram bot. We may expand it to Whatsapp in the future but it's not easy dealing with Meta's shenanigans.

just chiming in because got done watching a few videos on opensource LadyBird browser.
recent comments on each video were like "it's f******** dog shxt can't open a youtube video without having to click play, after you click play it freezes and crashes the browser! fix it!". and comments from uploader were like "Chrome wasn't built in a day, it had a rough start too". ðŸ˜
I think the dark mode on mobile looks fantastic. I assume it was modified somewhat fairly recently from the previous eye piercing mode?
Why don't you make your own ozbargain app then?
We had. However dealing with ever changing requirements from Google & Apple proves too troublesome so we gave up.
Developing an app is one off, but maintaining it is ongoing, even when there's no change to your app, as the app stores still require you to do so.

I believe OzBargain supports being installed as a PWA (Progressive Web App). Maybe try that.
