  • Anyone can compare this to Fujifilm XT5?

    • Besides the dynamic range and the newer release, the fujifilm is a muuuch better body.
      Nikon's 20MP vs Fujifilm's 40MP
      Weather Sealing
      Higher resoultion EVF and backpanel
2 vs 1 SD slots, etc etc

Nikon comes with a travel lens (Not the sharpest in the world) while most fujifilm's come with some of the highest rated lens in the kit.

Big price jump though but Nikon is for budget friendly while fujifilm is one of the best APS-C cameras around

      • Oh okay thanks. I saw an xt5 for less than 2 grand for just the body.

Lenses are where the real costs to cameras are! Check around for the lens you want at the same time. Fujifilm do really nice ones but lack of 3rd party while Nikon has way more options to shop around.

          Don't forget second hand too!

        • +1

@ChickenAdobo they're quite different to use. I'd encourage you to pop into a camera store like Ted's and compare all the options. Ergonomics, menu systems, how it feels in your hand. The Nikons are more user-friendly than some other brands.

Check out sample images online taken with the lenses you are looking at using with the cameras. Reviews from other owners (shops like B&H are great for those!)

Good luck with the decision and happy snapping!

18-55mm and its sucessor 16-50mm are both not that sharp actually. 18-55 gained reputation because nobody cared to make a good standard zoom as kit lens but most other brands caught up.

And if you want to compare apple to apple, Fuji's 18-135mm is the direct competitor to this Nikon kit lens and that lens isn't all that sharp either.

Nikon does make a 24-70 F4S, and that lens is the sharpest kit lens ever made, in the history of photography.

You can literally type "Nikon Z50ii vs. <camera model>" into Google and get complete rundowns between the two and potentially actual reviews

In terms of a direct competitor to the Nikon, something like the OM-5 may be a little closer to this one.

Yeah I could but those are enthusiast, not for the every day man/woman perspective.

        • +1

If you think camera reviews are for enthusiasts i don't think either of these cameras are for you lol.

          • @dukeGR4: Why are you trying to mock a potential dslr owner trying to get into a camera hobby? It like you are one of the pc master race being a snob to casual and console gamers. Not everyone are deep in the camera game and everyone started from a beginner. You read like a prick

            • @ChickenAdobo: Because if you think reviews are tough to handle then I pity whatever forum/group you spam with questions once you get one.

…… and if you actually looked there are a number of sites out there that literally have dot-point lists of the advantages each has over the other.

            • @ChickenAdobo:

Which is to say, you should:

              a. start smaller (with cheaper or simpler cameras, could be used)
              b. learn a bit more about the hobby before you sink mad Gs.

Idk what's worse : You thinking we're mocking you for giving you a reality check or you being lazy.

You're on Ozbargain ffs, not wanting to learn and/or unwilling to learn about an expensive product you're buying is wild

  • Holy moly my full frame canon r8 was cheaper than this

Nikon mirrorless just doesn't do it for me. I'm still stuck on the D7200 DSLR bodies. I love that camera.

    • I won't move from my D500; hardly use the D7100 these days.
