Great price, thanks for sharing. Ordered 3 to avoid the shipping costs so definitely sorted for cat litter for a while!

Ordered 2 and still manage to avoid the shipping cost

      • Lol same

  • Edit: Ignore this message, got the code to work. Thank you OP! We have three cats!

  • Perfect thanks!

  • Will this clump?

    • No. Note it can be a bit dusty too. Other than that my cats have no complaints…

      • oo.. Do you then dispose off the entire tray after a few days, if doesn't clump?
Using WW's clumping clay now. so trying to explore other options

We do a weekly cleanout—or sooner if it starts smelling like a crime scene. My cat, who has the attitude of a spoiled celebrity (and the emotional range of an eggplant), gives this setup two claws up.

Sure, you could just scoop the worst bits and hope for the best, but my cat has a sixth sense for half-assery. His revenge? Thoughtfully curated "gifts" deposited just outside the litter box. You’ve been warned.

        • haha my furry terrorists complain after a couple of uses of this - I give two large scoops into each tray and they still need changing at least once a day - one cat pees their entire body weight every day, or at least seems like it. I go through 3x 30l bags every 3 months.

    • No but it will smell like fermented bin juice if you don't clean it frequently enough

  • Thanks OP! That should keep us out of trouble for a while ;-)

  • I have to clean it every 3 days and I only have one cat. He urinates often and if the litter starts dirty, he tries to go to the bathroom tub… Any way to make the change less frequent? It's tiring and costly

switch to clumping litters, tofu if you want compositable. Then you just need to take out the clumps everyday.

    • You can mix this with some clumping litter if you want, makes it last a bit longer and you don’t have to use as much volume of clumping

    • mine is the same.. I have one of those constant water fountains and he drinks a lot each day, which I guess is good for him.. but man when he pees it's like that scene in Austin Powers. Plus I need to change the litter at least once a day, twice after they take a dump - because they're picky and they'll miaow until they have clean litter again.

From my experience this is known as diabetes. You have to bring the cat for a blood test quick.

Catmate litter is our go to. Breeder's Choice was too stinky, even with daily cleaning, and didn't seem to soak all the pee, meaning we had to wash the tray more often. Catmate is a wood pellet litter, you can buy a sieve-plus-litter tray setup, or just use normal trays and DIY (cheaper and I think easier). Its hard to find on sale, but can usually get for $28 for 15kg bag, or around $21 if you get a great sale (used to be able to get for $15 for 15kg, those were the days).

We have several trays around the house with about 1-2cm depth of Catmate litter. When the cat pees, the pellets soak up the pee and fluff up then fall apart. If the cat doesn't scratch the litter all around the tray, you can scoop out most of the fluffy pile with a container with solid edges (like a square pen holder), then scoop any mixed used/good stuff into a sieve (like a plastic colander) sitting on a small bucket, sieve, and return the good pellets back to the tray. The sieved/fallen apart bits can be put on the compost heap. Then add fresh litter.

Solid poops can be scooped out by whatever method. If you clean the trays that have been used daily, it works best. You can leave them longer, give the tray a shake to distribute the fluffy litter amongst the pellets, and cats apparently use the used-fluffy litter a second time, but we have fussy cats so any used trays get cleaned at least daily. You'd probably want to have a deeper layer if you want to leave it longer between cleans, and if you want the cat to cover its poops. At the very latest, dispose of the tray of litter when its all fluffed up and had two pees.

Start cleaning it daily! Would you still use a toilet that hadn't been flushed in 3 days? Why would you leave piss smelling litter in there for 3 days?

I'm not a cat. Would you sh*t in a litter box?

Not in a litter box that has 3 days worth of piss and shit in it no

        • obviously you've never lived in a share house.

  • Thanks OP, bought 2, good deal and I hate carrying it from the shops.

  • Thanks op
    This rarely goes on sale.

My cats dislike this one, I've switched to tofu litter and they've been fantastic, albeit more expensive.

    • Do you find tofu smells? I tried a couple and found that. Which one do you recommend?

The only thing I've found that I'm happy with is Cat's Best original (red label). Super expensive though 😞

    • Tofu worked the best for me. Less smell easy to clean and clumped well. Every other litter seems to work a lot worse and I tried them all.

I hate this stuff. I've tried it on two separate occasions, separated by years, both times same problem: It's recycled office paper but they don't seem to even attempt to remove non-paper components from it.

Rubber bands in large pieces all the time. There were also pieces of plastic from binders and even staples…

Given this stuff can get in their paws and end up consumed, I'll never touch it again
