Home Show - Are Special / Limited Time Offer Worth It?

Hi, I’m interested to hear your thoughts on the “special discounts” and “limited time” offers only at the Home Show. Are they actually worth it? Would they offer better discount during the year like financial-year or Black Friday?

Some of the deals do seem attractive, but I can’t dismiss the feeling that they’re just triggering FOMO to get you to spend.

Your feeling is correct for the vast majority of exhibition shows.

I went to the baby show in Sydney few weeks ago
They said I won’t get a better price, I literally googled the same pram and it was cheaper at baby bunting….
The only advantage they had was the warranty started when the baby was born…. But it was $300 more

Typically usually they just try to capitalise on the FOMO

  • ALL sales are a con to get you to buy stuff that either 1. You dont really need or 2. That the seller cant sell at usual prices.

  • Just like the Easter showbags, $5 worth of cadbury fun-size for $10.

  • It's always to get you to make a knee jerk purchase. There's zero advantage to buying from shows
